Even back in the early 80s the van we drove our gear to CBGB in, he used to drive around and come get us when we were done.
None of us drove or had cars which is a big part of NYC culture - you take the train everywhere. Even when I bought my first bass at Manny's I took it home on the train without a case. Just the way you did things then. ♥ 4:47pm
