Wow!!! Kicking off w/ a fabulous Smithereens tune!!!
Saturday early evening greetings Snayle et al from above the 49th!
Truly...I was in touch with someone earlier this morning as to the Smithereens ability to put together such poetically evocative lyrics & corresponding melody & musicianship...& how "below-the-radio-radar" they are/were as a band.
hey! it's been ok, at least no snow. But I prefer the tropical island for damn sure

Anyway; Hello to everyone here!!!
:) I need to give a shout to Michael Des Barres, who somehow captured Pamela.. We saw his band (free KWEST show) at John Anson Ford theater - in the Cahuenga Pass. And YES, he proceeded to swip every pair of sunglasses from the small cloud. :)

Mr. BPN and I waited until the RSD crowds dispersed at a local shop and no problem getting one. Give a holler to some of your local rsd stores. Didn’t seem to be in real demand
Mike sang for Band of Angels before he went to the Manfreds... I think.

The only thing I wanted was the John Coltrane Quartet* – France 1965: The Complete Concerts. And it did not show up at my 3 Record Stores in Hicksville. Need to find some $ and pick up on Discogs
If you kicked or punched that car, there was zero affect… I had a Plymouth satellite that I think I got a few accidents with and it never took a scratch. It was like the freaking space shuttle.

I need to quit F'ing around and get my grandpaws 64 Riviera back on the road!
Hey there! It was a fun car! Good thing it was on the big side! I wrecked it pretty quick and Dad didn't get it painted for a couple of years after the wreck. It just had bondo on it. We called it the bondo mobile! I was so embarrassed to drive it to high school! That was my punishment! Haha!
Exactly! Even funnier. Once we finished the paint job, I swear not a month went by and I was stupid and loaned it to a friend while I was working part-time one day. She and her dumb boyfriend wrecked it! There went that damn car! She was a rich kid and spoiled brat! Didn't even offer to help fix it!

First cars!?! Used gold 1968 Sunbeam Rapier fastback ...which I purchased first...then learned how to drive...in London. Passed my really hard UK driving test on the 3rd go...

'65 Gran Sport? Rode shotgun with my Mum coming home from the babysitter's back in the day...that car could beat a Vette off the line if you launched it properly!

Awesome! The 63-65 Rivs really are one of the most beautiful GM designs! I had a black '65 in '85 during San Diego Navy days, "only" a 401, factory mags...my shipmate Doug called it the Batmobile!
I caught them in summer '78 or maybe '79 in a fading glory "dinner club"...The Cave...on a midweek night...so small audience...and they were fantastic live!!!

I used to know a local guy here who was a DJ in New Mexico: Charlie Brown.
What are we coming to?
No room for me, no fun for you
I think about a world to come
Where the books were found by the Golden ones
Written in pain, written in awe
By a puzzled man who questioned what we were here for
Oh...now THAT'S a great one... especially the later years re-recorded versions by Bill Kirchen...where he really goes to town when "passing" all his musical icons/influences!!!
So many, Man Who Sold The World, Hunky Dory, Aladdin Sane... my 2 cents all tied, I also adore Station To Station, but prolly as I was a speed freak in the late 70s. ACK thankful no longer for 35 plus years.
Wow. Marvin Hamlish creeped me out as a kid. Odd that he made that chat show world.

I'm rather partial to cats myself ..but as I'm now living in a "no pets" rental I make do with the lovely geese that gather around a nearby fountain for my regular animal fix. Of course... being wildlife, I never feed them. The crows are pretty interesting to observe too.
So much talent, his outfits and the Cyndy Garvey thing.... hmmmm, but the guy earned every award that was given to him. He did look like that guy on The love Boat and Fantasy Island. :)
He did look like that "typical" guy on The love Boat and Fantasy Island.

Tick Tock...I can't believe your 120 minutes are almost up Snayle!
This has been another great show... you're batting a thousand!
I'm about to attempt to get in to a sold-out show for UK band The Wedding Present...at a very old & leaky-sound venue/building.
If I don't manage to score a ticket off someone with a spare...I'll simply sit on a fence out back of the bldg & just "listen in"...from the cheap seats!!!
Indeed, but thankful that a lot of soundmen and road crew are still kicking it!
10:53pm
Van Winkle ;-):
Hmmmmm...I'll pour my zero alcohol grapefruit radler into my water bottle...& have no worries should any "authority types" question me on my beverage consumption...as public alcohol drinking (except in designated zones) very much remains a big No-No above the 49th!
