One of my favorite band name fun facts is that Alice in Chains decided on their name early on, but almost didn't use if because it offended Layne Staley's mom.
One of the band's early guitarists was having a discussion with the singer of a different band about backstage pass designs. One of them had a backstage pass with the message "Welcome to Wonderland" on it, which led the singer to make a quip about how the band must have Alice chained up backstage or something. The band's guitarist then suggested the name "Alice in Chains" to the band, who liked it but thought it may be too lewd sounding, so they initially went with Alice N' Chains only for Layne Staley's mom to not like that either.
