italians do it better is awesome (i think its on and off defunct now?? maybe? my father is a big fan of that label and he said there's some drama with the guy that founded it...) all 4 of the "after dark" label comps are fantastic, plus chromatics are on there who are fantastic

what record store did you go to? record surplus? did you make it to endless noise? that is not really a record store its a recording studio with some coffee and records...
This is awesomely weird and weirdly awesome! These are the Bandcamp tags they use to label their music: alternative, experimental, poetry, synth, avant-garde, experimental, London... Definitely works!

At first I was like, no way. Now I'm like, kind of? But doesn't it need horns? It gets rocksteadyish. So call it ska adjacent.

new wave ska?

i would call this like a reggae-influenced strain of post punk, but not ska

Nah, it's not ska. The guitar is ska-ish in the first verse but changes up. The drummer is too good. They're not playing a polka/yakkety sax beat.
To make it more interesting, we could have "if it is ska, is it (1) Original Jamaican ska (early 60s); (2) 2nd wave ska / 2 Tone (late 70s); or (3) 3rd wave ska (90s)?" The winning prize is a Pork-pie!

This crowd might be interested to know that Numero Group is going to have a popup at South Street Seaport (John and Front) on weekends for the next several weeks.
I don't even know. He couldn't get access to the X-rays because his system couldn't connect to NYU's ("Do you have MyChart on your phone?" "Doc, I don't even have a phone.") So he thinks I'll be out of the boot by the end of the weekend but will call me at some point to let me know. Also gave me a shot on the top of my foot for the tendinitis I have from my bones "lipping."
Also, Mexico didn't pay for it, nor was it beautiful
