In English it apparently is "grab bag" but then you just have a bag full of unknown goodies. A grabbelton originally usually was a round cardboard washing powder box filled with crumpled newspaper and small gifts, also wrapped in newspaper. 🦆 ♥ 1:18pm

Anecdote time! My GF used to accompany the TV-Crew of the German broadcaster WDR during Eurosonic in Groningen. One time, the presenter wanted to do a presentation on camera while riding a bicycle. So he asked my GF if he could borrow her bike. She immediately bursted into homeric laughter. ♥ 1:52pm
