Mark T:
Great music Jim the Poet. It’s been a great WFMU day of music. FMU is the best music to keep spirits up. Today would have been my wife’s 65th birthday.
Of course. She was six months older than me to the day. The whole story is like a Lifetime Channel movie. In short, we were divorced for 10 years. In that time I had gotten remarried, then got sober. Was divorcing wife two when Mary took ill with cancer. The year before she passed we reconnected. Three months before she passed I was in California, and she was in Jersey. She called me to say her chemo was not working. And I was broke. She sent me money to drive back to Jersey. for the final three months I sat by her side at home until the end. November 28, 2014. And she was a firefighter. After that funeral I can not hear bagpipes without being brought to my knees
great story Mark. My parents were divorced and mum remarried, divorced and well, we went on family vacations all togther after all that. They didn't get back together but simply connected as a family. It was great. My dad passed not long after. I can not hear "Hey Jude" for same reasons. Thanks for sharing that, just gorgeous.

You are welcome. Yours is a beautiful story also. And I left out a lot of details but it really is a bittersweet story. And I consider it a gift of sobriety. When she passed I was seven years sober. 18 plus years now.
