Gling-Glo! One of my fave Bjork releases! Icelandic jazz standards! Hi Juile, birds, others. I'll be heading to work soon but will be here for a bit.
Which, where did that come from? I get Cinco de Mayo: someone, somewhere is always celebrating a victory over French forces. But who started Taco Tuesday? Old El Paso? Big Ortega?
Hi all. I've heard Broadcast often on WFMU but I don't remember the singer reminding me so much of Annie Haslam (of Renaissance) like on this song. Something about her enunciation I think.

Hello, Handy!!
How is your recovery going? I thought of you on Saturday as I visited the Palais Bénédictine.
Well, still in the stupid boot. Mostly pain free. Just some aches or the occasional stab of pain if I like catch it on the blankets or something. I'm going to get an X-ray tomorrow to see if I can move on from this nonsense!
I broke out the SMWS bottle last night for an old friend who came over for dinner ...

I haven’t seen that many gigs this year but seems like every time I am here I am travelling back home from some gig, so today it was Seefeel!
And hey Julie, all!
i don't have a dishwasher. i did attempt to load one recently while at an air bnb. it was very confusing and tedious! i could have handwashed the dishes in the time it took me to load it "properly".
Hey Matt. I wanted to apologise for an affront I feel I imposed upon you. I feel I stepped on your Golden Girls <-> Young Ones analogy. I was trying to yes-and, but I feel I came over aggressive. I offer my humble apology.
Hearty White has lately been talking about The Golden Girls, and how he didn't watch them at the time - he was a young man into The Young Ones! But now realizes they are kinda analogous to each other!
So taking a step further, I compared the four mains in each, figuring out who they would "correspond" with in the other series.
Most seem to agree with the Dorothy-Sophia (Bea Arthur-Estelle Getty) dynamic with Rik and Vyvyan (Rik Mayall-Adrian Edmondson). Though which one Rose (Betty White) and Blanche (Rue McClanahan) correspond to are a bit different. Neil (Nigel Planer) got a bunch of punchlines, and Mike (Christopher Ryan) is cool as a cucumber. But Rose could be cool and aloof, and Blanche was, ahem, "popular" with the lads..
i always think on NGH when Cranes come on. hope he's ok

A beautiful day where I live, so I have been outside walking, talking to neighbors and reading Adele Beret's new book "No New York: A Memoir Of No Wave And The Women Who Shaped The Scene." It's a breezy, informative and touching read. This kind of book always sends me down a warren of rabbit holes, looking up books, films and records, some I have some knowledge of and a bunch that are new to me, even if I am familiar with many of the people involved.

Mick Jagger reveals how Robert Smith ended up on The Rolling Stones' new album:
"I turned up one day to do my vocals in London and there's this bloke standing there with his back to me with his long gown on, and when he turned around he was covered in lipstick.
"I've never met him before and I said, 'You are Robert Smith of The Cure.' And he said, he said, 'Yeah, we've never met.' And then I said, 'Well, while you're here then you'd better go and do something.' That's how collaborations work sometimes. Go out and sing the backing vocal."
