WAMO FM still exists. Before during and after, it remained a premier soul and funk,Pittsburgh station. So, it was really cool that their new FM band gave Brother Love and underground radio a chance. Porky Chedwick, famous Pgh oldies DJ ended up there with Bro Love, during a low point in his oldies career. Quite weird to hear him playing Rolling Stones and Vanilla Fudge.

Larry, An AM station WZUM started up with an “ underground “ show and a similar musical format. I don’t remember the dj’s name, but Brother Love sometimes tended to sensationalize. I don’t remember the dj aping Brother Love. It was more a case of the slow drawl voice of proto FM radio hosts to come.
When Eric was still a cool, progressive force (Cream did give writer's credit to Skip James, which they could have gotten away with not doing, they changed the song so much. Led Zep, lookin at you...)

Thanks for the shout out LG! I learned about WAMO and Brother Love from Jim Spitznagel, who grew up in Pittsburgh, listened and was involved as a teenager in the terrific music scene, and would later own the very influential and amazing Jim's Records store in Pittsburgh for nearly 3 decades. He was also the first guy to put out a local version of the Pittsburgh garage and Psych bands of the mid 60s called 'Burghers' based on the Pebbles/Boulders comps that were blooming at the time. Jim's a fascinating guy who now lives in Rockin Rochester.
Somewhere I have recordings of a series of radio shows Wilson hosted in the 60s. They were mainly MGM/Verve promo focused but include some cool interviews
I believe the title is a tip of the hat to Mama Cass

Larry, oh yes, Racket Squad were frequently guests on the local TV dance party with Clark Race, a popular Top 40 dj on KDKA radio and then I think with Terry Lee, ( the TL sound) a musical force here through the 60s

An old friend who I haven't seen in years spent time as Lou's personal assistant. There used to be a recording on Youtube of an answering machine message with Lou calling out "Steve, pick up Steve!"

I think the legendary local DJ Porky Chedwick- who called himself “ Electric Pork the Torque” in his stint as an underground host with Brother Love, refused to play this song. It was uneasy gig for him and I can understand it. I do remember him once editorializing on his show that the kids should not call cops “ pigs” and went into the reasons why. It was around 1969 and things were getting very wild in the streets.
