Greetings and good morning from Stockholm! Omg this is one of my favorite themes ever
I received a HUGE amount of my early music education from watching skate videos growing up. I highly recomment the Santa Cruz video Streets of Fire was full of Black Flag, Minutemen, Descendents, firehose, Sonic Youth, etc (basically all SST bands), also Pailhead. It was my introduction to a lot of that music. I made a cassette mix directly from the VCR to listen while skating. My VHS copy was at least a second generation dub, so as you can imagine, the sound quality was IDEAL:) Eventually I went out and got all the tapes, of course! Anyway, for those that haven’t watched Streets of Fire, I highly recommend it:)
interesting. I'm the complete opposite to be honest...I'm on the phone 24/7 mainly looking up music, sports content. It's a very useful tool to discover new bands.
when i drove a taxi, ~2005, i bought a $30 stereo cassette recorder to capture conversations, to use in sound collage!
i've also never owned an ipod...although i have had 2 cd walkmans. (each of which i got for free)
