I have 12 herniated discs in my back (of course) from a ladder fall in 2007.
Since then (19 years) I have dealt with daily pain that ranges from excruciating to moderate on a daily basis.
I lost my job & my career in 2010 because of the pain & my physical profession (electrical work) of 20+ years, many so-called friends and of course have had other health issues from the stress of pain, like an ulcer (2009) & a heart attack in 2017 (both also very painful).
no surgery, only use acetamenophen for mild pain relief (those other drugs are a trap unto themselves).
I hope everything works out for you Michael

Last week was the first in my experiment switching to digital only after getting the Sunday Times for over 25 years. And I hate that I missed that frustrating experience with the crossword!

Huge advantage for drummers who play the high-hat with their left hand. Allows the right hand to move freely about the kit, which is not really possible when playing in a standard fashion of crossing the right over the left to play beats on the hats.

Agree! might be a bias, or my imagination, but lefty drummers have a little something different going on. They play differently in a way I can’t describe.

I'm a left-footed and left-handed drummer. I have the snare and hi-hat and the ride on the right side of the kit. I mostly don't hit the hi-hat with the sticks though, I just use the pedal. I use the ride like a hi-hat sometimes. Left side is for the floor tom and the crash cymbal which I almost never use, usually just if somebody said something funny. Nobody taught me how to do any of this.
Wow, I've never even heard of Marc, much less even heard this tune which is pretty decent. Reminds me of the Bob Welch days of early Fleetwood Mac. Just found this bio: bradkyle.substack.com...

Fond memory is seeing Phast Phreddie and Thee Precisions perform at the music machine in LA. I was 17. Saw Phreddie standing at the front of stage looking very dejected. Asked him when he was going on. Answer: As soon as these these imbeciles get off the stage. I laughed for years about that. Just know, you had to be there.
Yeah -- it may have been more of a mastering issue than mixing. I can't remember the details. Its just funny that their biggest hit almost got derailed by a technical issue.

I was reading The Journals of John Cheever (hard to put down) and he mentioned seeing and liking "Come Back, Little Sheba", so I watched that. Wild movie. Burt Lancaster appears to be in a silent film a lot of the time, such are his exaggerated gestures and faces. It also stars Terry Moore, who later claimed to be Howard Hughes' secret bride. I do it every week, and last week it was all out of whack I gave up, thinking it was some weird thing you had to figure out, but it turned out it was unsolvable! Total screw-up. First time in 84 years. I felt so vindicated.

BobbyN: Huge advantage for drummers who play the high-hat with their left hand. Allows the right hand to move freely about the kit, which is not really possible when playing in a standard fashion of crossing the right over the left to play beats on the hats.

Today I learned that this isn't a Los Lobos originallistener Elias: I can't imagine why any drummer would frown upon playing "left-handed". What i can say is that it feels very natural to me to have your "main" snare drum hand to be be on a different "side" than your bass drum foot. No clue why.

ah, so the schedule i looked had those switched!drr: I'm a left-footed and left-handed drummer. I have the snare and hi-hat and the ride on the right side of the kit. I mostly don't hit the hi-hat with the sticks though, I just use the pedal. I use the ride like a hi-hat sometimes. Left side is for the floor tom and the crash cymbal which I almost never use, usually just if somebody said something funny. Nobody taught me how to do any of this.

Fond memory is seeing Phast Phreddie and Thee Precisions perform at the music machine in LA. I was 17. Saw Phreddie standing at the front of stage looking very dejected. drr: I was reading The Journals of John Cheever (hard to put down) and he mentioned seeing and liking "Come Back, Little Sheba", so I watched that. Wild movie. Burt Lancaster appears to be in a silent film a lot of the time, such are his exaggerated gestures and faces. It also stars Terry Moore, who later claimed to be Howard Hughes' secret bride. And of course Shirley "Hazel" Booth won Best Actress for it.
