Good Evening, Gary & Bodegistas!
I've dl'ed quite a bit of vaporwave over the years, mostly from Soundcloud (I have an account there which I haven't used for quite a while now) and on YouTube. Also heard some really good synthwave produced during the 2010's on.
Whoever this Rollergirl is has obviously learned their chops and earned their props from Daft Punk and Madeon.
It’s like Danger Zone meets the Seinfeld theme song

A2B:
This new thing the kids are doing now called "slurmcore" seems to be a progressive trend evolving from vaporwave (although I personally can't get behind it, despite the fact that our beloved station manager plays that stuff on his show on occasion.)
I think that Shiloh, who was your guest nearly a year ago, playing underground private release Japanese folk psych, might have some insight on Vaporwave. Have not seen him on a WFMU playlist for quite a while. Looking at what he has favourited, last item was in March '26 during Jessica's program.
Be glad of it. It's pretty lame. They just take a song, slow it down a few keys, then double the BPM's. Not what you'd call an inspiring idea.
