Clinton Administration was a cool project with NOLA's Stanton Moore on drums. Their first album was all P-Funk covers (hence the name) and then they followed it up with an all Sly album.

Hello! Tuned in from New Orleans where:
- it's Election Day, it's primaries for Senate and voting down Governor Landry's amendments.
- Farewell show for Happy Talk Band tonight, maybe you know them, Jason. After about 26 years. The drummer is moving to Chicago.
- The Port of New Orleans tore down the big brick warehouse in fromnt of my place so now I have a whole new view of the sunset (right now with big piles of rubble).
- The weather is very nice, not too hot or humid.

Danny Barker is Much of New Orleans music History.
From Wiki...
Daniel Moses Barker (January 13, 1909 – March 13, 1994) was an American jazz musician, vocalist, and author from New Orleans. He was a rhythm guitarist for Cab Calloway, Lucky Millinder and Benny Carter during the 1930s.
One of Barker's earliest teachers in New Orleans was fellow banjoist Emanuel Sayles, with whom he recorded. Throughout his career, he played with Jelly Roll Morton, Baby Dodds, James P. Johnson, Sidney Bechet, Mezz Mezzrow, and Red Allen. He also toured and recorded with his wife, singer Blue Lu Barker. From the 1960s, Barker's work with the Fairview Baptist Church Brass Band was pivotal in ensuring the longevity of jazz in New Orleans, producing generations of new talent, including Wynton and Branford Marsalis who played in the band as youths.
Danny's Fairview Baptist band also spawned the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. And later Danny Barker became a historian of New Orleans jazz, I think working with Tulane's Hogan Jazz Archive. And his book "A Life In Jazz" is great reading.
Sure is, but I'm not too affected by it 'cause I take a Quercetin supplement that keeps it at bay for me. Weather has been gorgeous here this week!! Not too hot yet and dry! Yeah! Not humid. That's about to change. Probably though. Got some thunderstorms supposedly strong thunderstorms coming
Coincidentally, a friend of mine from Toronto just texted me about possibly doing another gig up there in the fall. (We played at Drom Taberna in December doing a bunch of New Orleans songs.)
