Don Haugen/Mandom is playing at Interzone this Thursday, with Rubber O Cement and Memphitick Ooze (I'm not familiar with them) but I will try to come down and check it out
Oh damn, that should be a great show. I will probably have to miss it, as I have band practice for a show I'm playing in Corvallis soon. But Mandom is ALWAYS good, and Rubber O is AMAZING. It'll be a good show.
This was given to me by one of the Knuckle Children themselves, who goes by Moth Hunter. They gave me a massive drive full of live performances, albums, solo recording by both band members, etc. There so much Knuckle Children...
A song recorded live on WTC! I was asked to master / assemble a collection of all the live bands that had been on WTC, through to 2014 (when I started on the project). This recording was thought to be lost, but I recovered it from a dying hard-drive, and mastered it for the WTC collection. The photo is of the band paying, that day, on his show, taken by Ricardo.
This record was on my "faves" list in 2006. I'm pretty sure I didn't do a "Top 10," but I did a "favorites" list for our website then, and this album was near the top of the list that year.

Song:
"But Not For Me" by "Miles Davis with Sonny Rollins"
I'm no Jazz expert, but I try to learn a little here and there. Miles Davis records have often been very compelling. Goodbye, Sonny Rollins! Your music is fantastic.

Song:
"(Performance 3) (Live) [Excerpt]" by "Boyd Anders...
Another recording, live on WTC! Boyd Andersson plays around with a lot of folks, and I've had a chance to have him play with Mini-Mutations, once. I recovered this recording from the same hard drive I was talking about, and it was thought lost for a while.
↳
Song:
"(Performance 3) (Live) [Excerpt]" by "Boyd Anders...
Also a case of: photography by Ricardo. They keep up a Flickr page, and you can find archives of all the photos he took of bands that have played on his show.
↳
Song:
"(Performance 2) (Live)" by "The Silverman & Soriah"
Another "Live on WTC" recording! I was in the studio for this one. We have The Silverman (from The Legendary Pink Dots) performing with legendary throat-singer, Soriah. A WTC unique recording, and one that I also recovered from that same drive. It only exists in mono, but the original performance was a very incredible stereo field experience.
WTC was available as a podcast, and someone was getting WTC each time an episode came out. Eventually, all the recordings that I didn't save personally - more on that later - were recovered from that person's drive, that had been saving the podcasts.
Good to tune in alongside organizing vinyl here this evening. Listening into the night with you and after bco until time to crash. Digging the live recordings captured!
It's a good, long-running radio show, that's currently on Freeform Portland, but has been around since the 90's. Ricardo is a long-time supporter of experimental music.
I have no order now, it is all random chaos on the shelves. Starting to move things around and sort a bit in prep for sneaking back into the sheena speakeasy streamwaves soon.
My plan now is keep it all randomized and slowly as I play stuff I'll file A-Z (with comps and soundtracks and spoken/sfx/other sections). For now it's kinda fun to pull out a stack and go okay Claudine Longet next to Magma, makes complete sense to me.
Now I'm remembering exactly why I did it that way. Yeah, that was good. Go me from the past...

Nice! Dead Air Fresheners have been around for a long time, and Ricardo of What's This Called has admitted that he's in the group. (Though Dead Air Fresheners always wear masks on stage.)
I make a point of adding all of my vinyl to discogs, as I have several 7"s and other small label releases that discogs is unfamiliar with. But adding CDs and Tapes has ben hard to do.
I tried getting people on reddit to send me WFMU cd information so I could add them to Discogs. Didn't get many bites sadly; I just like having things documented for posterity, cause my thinking is "Well maybe someone has this and they don't want to add it themselves." know What I Mean, Vern?
For a while, I was on the "Northern Spy" mailing list, and would get all their new albums. Damn, they have a VERY good discography. I love most of the albums they put out back in those days.
