↳ Song: "Blue Beach" by "The Giant Worm"

Friend of the show, Mr. X of The Giant Worm, handed me this, along with many other "Giant Worm" recordings, that have probably never been properly released, that I know of. I like trying to dig out an appropriate tune, when I can.

I like Nick Cave a lot though I'm not a completist. But adding more of his stuff to the house mix is going to happen! Halo Benders, too, like I mentioned the other week. I get good ideas from your shows and I'm grateful for it!

Halo Benders are essential. I have a hard time with Nick Cave - too serious - but his funny tunes really hit hard. I don't like his, "I'm in the desert alone with a knife and god and I think I love you," songs.

I think the Wizard of Oz is THE KEY.

I engineered a number of Live Performances by Levator, where Sky would use looping pedals to create walls of sound, and then sing over them. Sort of like this... but a one-person version. (I think there were four people in this band?)

das ubuibi: i am sooooo confused. Afterparty ??
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 11:42pm
Austin Rich: One trick that I have learned about recording bands: ask them to set up the way they do in their practice space, and have them play at least one full song, all the way through, before you start trying to mix them. They need to be comfortable, and they need to warm up, before they really get going.

Austin Rich: At last count, I'm sitting on over 600 live recordings, of bands that I had on various radio shows, over the years. I figured the best way to find a place for them was to start digging through, and finding the best ones, to play again. That was really the origin of The Afterparty.
