Sounding fab Bri!
The phone app makes great sound but hard to follow comments so will be switching back to the big machine …keep em coming! brb
NOBRO galz like SGs...from what I saw a few weeks ago. Actually, lots of the younger acts I catch seem to be favouring SGs of late.
I've always enjoyed their sound...
I know lots of people who love Jaguars and SGs, but for some reason I've never gotten on with them (or Jazzmasters). A friend says it's because I don't like top-mounted jacks and there might be something to that.
Not necessarily...
In our town (Vancouver)...the SG always ruled as the guitar of choice for pretty well all the earliest punk bands. But yes...a genuine tele or strat were definitely out-of-reach for many younger (& not so young) musicians... especially before credit cards took off in the 80s/90s.
In 1985 I wanted to buy a used Telecaster (because Syd Barrett played one). I went to a music shop in Metuchen, NJ and all of the teles were way too expensive. But they sold me a 1966 Jazzmaster for $275!! Looking on Reverb, they are now going for as high as $16,000. Unfortunately mine was stolen 20 years ago.
The file for the show was 2 minutes too long so I had to tighten up the mic breaks a bit (and slightly increase the tempo of the file to get it to fit.
OMG it never occurred to me shows might be time-compressed like that. I bet that's why some tempos have felt slightly off to me. I assume they aren't being pitch-shifted as well?

Van Winkle ;-):
It's interesting to hear your more recent tastes/selections.
Personally I rarely delve deep into names/faces/videos/antics...as concerns music.
Creative-leaning folks of any age/era seem to carry on creating great new sounds... thankfully.
I'm catching Irish band Just Mustard tonight...
As much as I love/enjoy all my classic & nostalgic favourite bands/tunes... I'll always be drawn to newer sounds too. It's what keeps music alive!
Thanks Bri for your great (& varied) selections today!

Van Winkle ;-): It's interesting to hear your more recent tastes/selections.
SF Sorrow: Thank you Bri for this presentation tonight! Hearing tunes I don't hear everyday is a great thing!
Mistress Jessie: Loved your drop in Bri! Thanks so much.
