Hey TDK60! The blue mailboxes were everywhere when I was a kid. They've gradually been taken away as conservatives try to mess up the postal service in their attempt to privatize it.
Good morning Peter, by a lake up thar. I've been reading about that. I heard a riled up talk by the postal union head of the APWU.
Peter, you used the term "conservatives" -- it seems like they don't really want to conserve anything...except their bank accounts.
They don't want to conserve their bank accounts; they want to grow them at our expense. I was trying to be polite... no need to get all crazy on a nice Sunday morning...

Re smoke-filled bars, many establishments had stemmed glasses hanging from suspended holders, upside down. The second-hand smoke was in every sip.
No, the actors on Mad Men did not smoke real tobacco or nicotine cigarettes. Instead, they puffed on tobacco-free and nicotine-free herbal cigarettes, primarily a popular brand called Ecstasy or Honeyrose. These herbal cigarettes were made from a proprietary blend of herbs like marshmallow, red clover, and rose petals, infused with honey and fruit juices. Even though they lacked nicotine, they still produced smoke and carcinogens. Here is how the cast and crew handled the smoking:The Taste: Actor Jon Hamm, who played Don Draper, famously described the herbal cigarettes as tasting like a miserable mixture of pot and soap. The Struggle: Because they were herbal, the cigarettes did not stay lit very long. Actors often had to puff on them continuously during takes to keep them burning, which explains why they always look like they are smoking so heavily on screen.
I met some people inside the castle in Prague who won their trip on a game show. They were taking pictures of each other holding a stick with Drew Carey's smiling face on it. The gothic masterpiece of architecture they stood in front of was mind-blowing. I think the husband winced a little when I said we were Canadian
