Trembling At Dawn 03:31 about Sharpen Thy Knife, Curse The Sky is an album brimming with inventive, melancholic and dark atmospheric dungeon synth. The album was planned on Gondolin Records even before the label launched, but while some of the tracks are based on old sketches, other material has been recently added to deliver the full scope of Moth Tower's artistic vision. | Rooted equally in rhythmic dark ambient as well as the melodic minimalist approach of prison-era Burzum, Moth Tower is the work of E. Brahe - a Danish musician, active in various bands, going back to black metal beginnings in late 90s and with a long running neofolk-inspired doom metal band as his main project.

Bronze Patina  Shipyards At Byblos (Demo Version)   Favoriting Odd Patina (Singles, Demos, Rarities)  2024  Bronze Patina is essentially a giant music composition and production class. I had never created electronic music of any kind before starting the project, so I've pushed myself to learn new techniques and styles along the way. The result is a lot of oddities and leftovers. Enjoy this potpourri of Patina. | "Shipyards At Byblos" appeared on my Phoenecian-focused album Sailing On Cedar. The early version had much more of a drone-y background tone that I ultimately abandoned in a remix, although the atmosphere of it is nice.

Ziggurath  Caravan at the Break of Dawn   Favoriting Tales from Southern Realms  2024  Mohammed Abdelkazeem arrived in Hamburg, Germany as a refugee in 1992. Soon he got absorbed by early MS-Dos computer games and underground tracker music in the vicinity of the burgeoning Chaos Computer Club. After dropping out of school, he studied music and sound design as an autodidact, becoming a celebrated wunderkind as a sound engineer in the German extreme metal scene of the late 1990s. | 2022, while recovering from a severe bout of depression induced by a long phase of unemployment, Mohammed started his first solo project under the name Ziggurath. Tales from Southern Realms is a journey into the raw and nostalgic sound of MIDI-instruments with a dash of orientalism.

Alkilith  Keeper of Secrets Under the Mountain   Favoriting Blade of Morndinsamman  2020  Minimal, dwarven synth from deep within the pantheon of the elder gods. | "On their enchanting debut Blade of Morndinsamman, Chicago’s Alkilith, a Dungeons and Dragons-inspired dungeon synth/fantasy ambient project (what they call "dwarven synth"), crafts its songs from minimal resources, often relying on single keyboard tracks to create atmosphere. Influenced by more traditional 8- and 16-bit video game music as well as their own peers, Alkilith concentrates on creating an atmosphere by utilitarian means—finding oneself in Alkilith’s dreamworld is simply the end result. | The dwarven sound relies more on the keen musician’s intuition than some grand, bellicose artistic statement. Alkilith doesn’t try, it merely is, and the natural-sounding music found on the Blade of Morndinsamman is as relaxing as it is engaging. These are the halls of the gods to which Alkilith summons, this is a true and vivid setting rather than some gaudy affectation. Use this to add to your upcoming game’s atmosphere, or lose yourself in it on its own." - www.thecallofthenight.com

Secret Archives of the Vatican  Baruk Khazâd!   Favoriting Halls of Stone  2021  We grew up with science fiction and fantasy books, comics and films. Much fantasy is rooted in mythologies, legends and old religions of northern Europe in particular. The races of JRR Tolkien's Middle Earth, particularly elves and dwarves, were not derived from twee Victorian-era fairy tales but were drawn from Norse, Saxon, Celtic and Old English mythology and legends. With this collection of tunes, we've tried to capture a little of that legacy, exploring where ancient tales and modern fantasy share some common tropes. This collection works like an old fashioned album - you can listen right through from start to finish and it'll take you on a journey. Or not. You can do whatever you like!

GNOLL  Wicked alliances, terrible omens   Favoriting HDK 38 † Zargo's Lords  2019  In the beginning, it was only the knights who dominated the world of Zargo. Over the course of centuries, thanks to their strength, they had built castles on the four continents, subjugating all humans, in agreement with the Wizards, custodians of the art of Visions and Knowledge... | But then, from strange and distant worlds, came other peoples, with different and terrible powers, who gradually snatched from the Knights not only lands to be exploited and on which to build their cities, but also masses of humans, transformed into their image . This led to what is called the "War of the Lords" in the annals of Zargo. Over the course of a year, amid alliance and immediately betrayed alliances, freeing extraordinary powers and powers, unprecedented clashes ignited the whole planet, in a struggle without quarter, where winning meant glory and power, and losing meant extinguishing. | ZARGO'S LORDS is an old fantasy wargame, produced in 1979 by the INTERNATIONAL TEAM, an Italian boardgames manufacturer; in about ten years of activity, I.T. produced a considerable amount of games, becoming a well-known company in Europe; some of the IT's board games, such as ZARGO'S LORDS, has been notable for the beauty of the scnenarios and the sophistication of the design. | In the 80s, we at HDK were true fanatics of ZARGO'S LORDS: this is why we wanted to offer a musical tribute to the game, by asking the mysterious ensemble GNOLL to make an epic, great album: the humanoids behind the GNOLL monicker obeyed our orders: they closed in the dungeons of the HDK headquarters with their instruments (moldy analog synthesizers, old dusty keyboards and thundering drums) and gave life to a soundtrack perfect for the warlike and arcane atmospheres of Zargo. | Certainly more magniloquent and melodic than the previous GNOLL albums, ZARGO'S LORDS preserves the primordial inspiration and magical atmospheres of “Citadel of Evil” or "Music for Dungeons", catapulting the listener into a fantasy world full of blood and mystery. | The artwork of this cassette was made entirely using the illustrations of box, pieces and board of the 70s original edition of the game.

Ryan Patin  Underwater Columns   Favoriting Puck's Workshop: Lost 90s MIDI Music  2020  This is a collection of MIDI files that I composed using Cakewalk in the mid to late 90's. They were created for Heretic and Hexen mods. Most of them were used on levels that I made with WADED. These tracks were meant to be endlessly looped for your journey. | I ran a site on Hexenworld.org called "Puck's Workshop". I was Puck. That's not really a reference to 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', it's a reference to 'Gargoyles', which was most excellent. I composed MIDI music for mods, levels, RPGs, etc. I interviewed some top 90's FPS game composers. It was a big deal. | While these pieces are not fantastic, I am proud of them. I was young and full of innocent creativity. My main influences were NIN, Danny Elfman, Kevin Schilder (Heretic Composer) and John Williams. | One of these songs was featured on the Baldur's Gate website in 1999. After several emails, they finally credited me. | web.archive.org/web/19990223220628/http://www.interplay.com/bgate/ | The vault has been opened and adventure awaits, weary traveller. Follow the Futurewizard into the past! | Note: Most of these tracks haven't been mixed (or played) since the 90s. They aren't mixed down or mastered. The volume may be intense. Apologies for that. I'll get to that eventually! | These precious relics were stored on the Internet Archive of my website (circa 1999). .MID to .MP3 using the General MIDI Soundfont and VLC. -Ryan Futurewizard Patin

Flies the Coop 2 is the missing link between Flies the Coop and Returns to Roost, thus completing the first story arc.
