I'm sorry about your auntie. The trip sounds amazing. I'm planning a WT pilgrimage of my own...for January...if that's a sufficient hint.↳ Andrew in Toronto @9:16
Hi Andrew!↳ Uncle Michael @9:16
Yes it is, and that sounds great.Provided everything goes off as planned, look for the idiots in the WFMU t-shirts on the slopes of the Tourmalet.

Hi NGH. I hope you're recovering.↳ northguineahills @9:37
Do you have a history of spontaneously passing out and bleeding all over the place?↳ northguineahills @9:37
Thanks for the update. Be careful out there. 9:41am↳ Roberto @9:39
Nope. But I’m 50 now. So maybe I shouldn’t exert myself as much. I was walking 7km in the FL sun for 3 days w/ just eating cup o’noodles. So, I wasn’t getting my nutrition. But I’m used to doing that in good times as it’s comfort food and never had a problem. The scary thing there were symptoms before (the bleeding came from dropping like a rag doll on the hard floor.↳ northguineahills @9:45
Damn, that's fucked up.↳ northguineahills @9:45

Y a tu hermana tambien!↳ adamdoesit @10:06
I think you have to write your experiences out at length, and then have your memoirs optioned by Holllywood, so that a CGI-heavy (and script-lite) version can be made, with Margot Robbie starring as you. Then it pays off....you'll get a....ummm...a cut. Yeah. You'll get a cut.↳ johnk77 @10:15

In that case, it's my great pleasure to meet you. As you may know, this was a bad week for center-left scions (not that this tag necessarily applies to you, although there's nothing wrong with that), with Dan Goldman's emphatically losing his House seat to the left-of-center-left Brad Lander. The seat will stay in Semitic hands, though. 11:17am↳ Kat in the chat @10:58

Important part of John Coltrane's history, and vice versa. Better pianist than most, employing a lot of tasteful restraint, which worked very well in the quartet. Perhaps people in your part of the country even also have this word.
↳ Song: "Well Well Well" by "John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band"
I spent most of November 9, 2016 C.E. scrubbing my apartment's floors while listening to this album over and over and over.↳ coelacanth∅ @12:48

This song was a pretty big deal to me in 1970.↳ Song: "Well Well Well" by "John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band"
surprisingly was able to find his wife's version (this sounds just like "why" off that album) pretty easily, this took a hot second to find in decent enough condition to complete the pair↳ Jeff Moore @12:48
It's not unfamiliar concept. "Douchebags" in spades.I've been listening since the first hour, but just got a chance to settle in at the playlist.
Your 6-hour show is making me vicariously exhausted.
↳ (Mr) Bill @12:48
this album is Lennon's most Brilliant moment, but Eno's "music for scrubbing floors" is better suited.↳ Uncle Michael @12:53
Michael!↳ pot8o @12:50
ono's "plastic ono band" album conversely *her* best album; but more appropriate to say ono's "why" borrows from well well well.↳ Jeff Moore @12:51

I'll have a listen. Thanks. I was angry at a great deal on November 9, 2016 C.E. My floors were not among the objects of my profoundly repressed anger on that day.↳ Jeff Moore @12:48

youboob zombies, puppets of stimulation.↳ Song: "Topsy (Part I)" by "Cozy Cole Orchestra"
this would make excellent bed music↳ coelacanth∅ @1:15
I could be the inspiration for "Be Billy," as my detestation of being called Billy started shortly after my Apgar test. Imagine the Freudian fury of seeing my first name written "Billy" on the napkins at my bar-mitzvah party!I'm still using the classic Leica APO-Macro-Elmarit-R lens from 1987 on my SL bodies, but I *had* been wondering when or if they'd get around to designing a new dedicated L-mount macro, incorporating all their recent optical mojo; here it is, only 41 years down the road:
Cool!
(Of course, in the meantime some recent Laowa designs had been eating their macro lunch for a crazy-reasonable price)
↳ Jeff Moore @1:20
I, for one, am beside myself. Say hello to other-me, everyone.↳ Jeff Moore @1:20
Is Laowa glass your third-party offering of choice?↳ (Mr) Bill @1:20
haha!↳ Simply Simon @1:11
I was convinced Willie was dying two years ago. I was dead wrong.↳ Uncle Michael @1:27
For macro lenses, yes.Otherwise pretty often Sigma or Voigtländer/Cosina

How well do the EOS R bodies handle manual focus? Are Canon still mountblocking other optical companies? I'm out of date on that whole issue.
↳ Simply Simon @1:33
youghouls, puppets of hype↳ Jeff Moore @1:35
I'm staring into an EF mount Sigma with an R mount adapter in manual mode right now. It works fine in auto too. If they make the adapter they really can't block 3rd party EF. Have they blocked R mount?↳ Song: "Professor Booty" by "Beastie Boys"

for a few years duckduckgo had no ads in the video search, but as of maybe 4-5 months ago youboob's ads are fully in place on duckduckgo.↳ coelacanth∅ @1:44
Even in the DuckDuckGo player?↳ Uncle Michael @1:40
Without the Bayer filters stuck in front of the sensor array, the B&W rendition is so beautifully smooth (instead of a little bit mealy looking with the colorguessing sensors), and you get a useful improvement in sensitivity/noise floor. Just a lovely coherent "grain" pattern when pixel-peeping.Now, does anyone but me see any of this by the time a photo is scaled down for web display? Probably nah, but still a good native monochrome digital sensor pleases the hell out of me.
↳ Kat in the chat @1:40
I tried getting duck duck go on my kindle, no luck.↳ pot8o @1:43
Thank you [ and Kat ]. i will try that out!↳ Jeff Moore @1:46

UM, I've been down in some Dantean dumps the past few days, and "regrettably missing comma" made me chuckle aloud for the first time in triple-digitly many hours. Thanks, you.↳ Song: "99th Floor" by "The Moving Sidewalks"
are we sure he doesn't really want to take the elevator to the 13th floor?↳ (Mr) Bill @1:45
oh, hmm... i'm not sure. i thought i installed it years ago but now i don't remember. (i'm not on that computer right now or i'd check)↳ Song: "Doctor, Doctor" by "The Who"
Deep dive!↳ Song: "Little Bombardier" by "David Bowie"
More obscurity!↳ (Mr) Bill @1:51
I'm happy to provide levity.↳ Uncle Michael @1:50
...because current color digital sensors (except for the Foveon ones, which unfortunately still aren't quite good enough overall to be mainstream) use an array of teensy color filters over all the pixel-sites (usually the Bayer array, but the Fujifilm X cameras use a different array called X-Trans), and then the camera firmware algorithmically tries to guess what the full-color value is at each pixel based on color levels of neighbors. The process of guessing what color each pixel is supposed to be based on neighbors is called demosaicing, and it can get messier than you may know:

I know for a fact that the DDG player was YouTube-ad-free as of late November. I haven't been able to use DDG since then because of a glitch that a DDG dude on Reddit said a few other people with MacBooks had reported. No fix yet.↳ Kat in the chat @1:47
i'll check that out for this laptop when the need arises. on the other (still my main computer, even though it's fairly quickly becoming incompatible with websites, because it's simply much better than the newer, shitified whackbook) it may have asked me that, years ago...i would've chosen whatever option has no ads; but maybe incompatibility has rendered that option null & void.↳ Song: "Time" by "Richard Hell & The Voidoids"
Three records in a row that I have actually owned at one time or another.↳ (Mr) Bill @1:56
Sometime earlier this year I think YouTube found a new way to thwart ad-blockers, for which mine has only recently caught up↳ Uncle Michael @2:00

Feh. I would expect that the DDG player is tougher to beat than an ad-blocker.The DDG browser lets me use it for about 5 minutes before the glitch kicks in. I just opened it, went to YouTube, and played a song. The option "Turn on Duck Player" showed up. I used it, and the song played for 30 seconds before I got out of there. No ads.
↳ StringOFperils @2:06
reminds me...another change took place a few months ago - a youboob video in a duckduckgo search now has no option to change the volume, or to skip ahead in the video; and the pause icon remains smack in the middle of the video for the entire thing, with most videos.↳ Andrew in Toronto @2:08
Aloha Andrew!↳ Andrew in Toronto @2:06
Hi Andrew.↳ Song: "East Of Asteroid" by "801"
I first heard 801 Live on KSAN in San Francisco, played by DJ Sean Donohue. I had to run out and buy an import copy, because it didn't have a US release. Got a copy of the Quiet Sun record too.↳ StringOFperils @2:06

i shall consider these options↳ StringOFperils @2:16
