we could go back to the likes of Percy Faith, and those EZ orchestras, that were dismissed as "muzak" until music went more electronic and abstract and got rebranded as "Ambient." But it's all "mood music."

But believe me, there were plenty of critics of ambient music back in the day who did scoff that it was merely a hip new kind of easy -listening.
