i own dozens of lamps, and dozens of sets of string lights. usually the string lights are my main lighting, but a floor lamp with 3 fixtures has a 60 watt incandescent for working with a mixer, + a blacklight bulb and a>21-year old led bulb that just barely fills in some gaps... one of several gooseneck lamps serves when reading in bed, a halogen lamp by the stove; a "vintage" wall-mounted lamp with a red bulb in it...etc etc...
in my present,*merely existing* situation all i'm using is 6 sets of string lights, and a drafting lamp mounted to the underside of a shelf over my bed.
depends on the shape and size of rooms, and lighting coming from passive sources.
2 apartments ago i had a small 3rd floor apartment at the top of a hill. only 2 windows, but i rarely needed artificial light during the day.
*remembering how much i loved listening to the LP as a teenager, exactly on those types of days, when the Sun was giving way to the evening . . . *

Agree & Concur. It’s a neo-touchstone film for me. also re the acknowledgement of nature & light in cinema is often expressed via French director Eric Rohmer films. Not sure how it would hold up today, (perhaps insufferable characters, yet I recall that was partially the point), ‘The Green Ray’ (1986, aka ‘Summer’) & ‘Four Adventures of Reinette & Mirabelle (1987) were particularly “magic hour” centric.
