It's always nice to have you visit the Digital Salon, Mr. X! I hope you are ready for a jam!↳ Imaginos @9:02
Greetings, Program! I hope you are having a nice evening. It's one of the longer days of the year today!↳ Austin Rich @9:02
I’m having a wonderful evening except for the clouds… again↳ Austin Rich @9:01
I was already jamming with the Dwarfs of East Agouza, Ak'chamel/Giver of Illness, Otay:onii, and Gnod. But I've set them aside for some MVM jams.↳ Imaginos @9:04
We could use your clouds here, send them over!↳ Mr. X @9:07
Wish I could. I haven’t seen stars outside of dreams in a year 9:11pm↳ JM in Texas @9:11
postconsumer and JM In Texas! Hooray! I hope you are ready for a night of fun tunes. 9:15pm↳ JM in Texas @9:11
I met them, in 2006, when I ran sound for them. The Beta-lactam Ring label had SO MANY great acts. I should put together a full set of their releases.↳ King Adam @9:15
King Adam! Hooray!Crank puts on the best shows. He's a great performer.
↳ King Adam @9:17
Ha! Yeah, some acts need a little help when they have to become "PG."↳ Song: "Tangent Night" by "Wendy Atkinson"
Wendy included a piece I recorded, of her playing on my radio show, on this album! It's not this piece, but I do like her work quite a bit.↳ Austin Rich @9:15
YES - it was either that live performance on KPSU or one of the BLRR shows where Ricardo would let Chris McBeth bring in new music……hard to believe that was 20 years ago.↳ JM in Texas @9:21
I know! I'm getting close to my 30th year in radio, and it really doesn't add up. Like... how? 9:26pm↳ King Adam @9:26
That sounds cool! But I haven't seen anyone like that. If you remember, let us know!↳ King Adam @9:26
😮↳ Bandit @9:42
You got meeces in pieces in there.↳ das ubuibi @9:37
That is a good place for the cat!↳ Imaginos @9:45
Sleep well.↳ Song: "Dead Lips Read The News" by "Dead Air Fresheners ...
Very ambient↳ Bandit @9:58
This one isn’t on the BandCamp! 🎸 ♥ 10:12pm↳ Heather Z @10:12
I think the copper taste is going away↳ Mr Fab @10:18
*Takes a bow*↳ Mr Fab @10:18
You are too kind!We like to have fun.
↳ Song: "Jonah's Whale" by "The Giant Worm"
Hooray!↳ Mr. X @10:22
Pete is always going on about whales...https://arumusic.bandcamp.com/album/live-in-union-park-des-moines-2026
↳ JM in Texas @10:42
That guy is PROLIFIC. I dig his work, and there's a LOT of it.↳ JM in Texas @10:42
I did a show with them in or around 2008!↳ Song: "(Performance 1) (Live) [Excerpt 1]" by "Soup Purse"
I should point out that, while I said that I engineered, "All of the What's This Called? Live Tracks," I need to take it back, because I did not engineer this recording. (I think either Brandon or Doug did that one.) But it was thought to be lost, and I recovered it from a hard drive, and then mastered it for a limited edition release that included a bunch of WTC? recordings. So I was involved, tangentially.↳ Arvo Zylo @10:44
Hello Arvo, I would have enjoyed that!↳ Austin Rich @10:49
Didn’t Ricardo have Green Milk From Planet Orange perform in his kitchen?? Did you record that? I remember that being a wild session, sadly I believe the audio was lost???↳ JM in Texas @10:54
Hello! And thank you again for your kindness! 11:09pm↳ JM in Texas @11:09
Thanks, JM! This is the one problem with getting older: you start to loose the people around you, as time goes on.↳ Olleh @11:14
Olleh! Good Hello!↳ JM in Texas @10:56
Yes, Ricardo did have Green Milk From The Planet Orange on his show. I ran the sound for that one. I have probably played it TOO many times on the show, over the years, because I'm quite proud of it. It was fun to meet those gents! I saw them play again, on another US tour here in the Mid-Valley, and they were EXCELLENT.↳ Austin Rich @11:12
That is so tragic about Peter deGroot. Vortex Remover is so unique, I am a big fan. When they played at a show that I helped to organize, they were super easy to work with, and gracious as well.↳ Mr. X @11:17
It is very tragic, and sudden. I knew he head some health problems, but he went from, "I'm still playing shows," to... gone. We're all a little flummoxed; He was only ever a great dude.↳ Song: "3 Bass Hit" by "Smegma"
I am glad to see Smegma has not been forgotten. At least not by Mid-Valley Mutations.↳ Mr. X @11:20
Of course not! I love those dudes, no matter how unlistenable they get.↳ Song: "Twittering Machines" by "Noggin'"
One of those releases so indie, I couldn't find an image of the album cover anywhere online.↳ Austin Rich @11:23
I enjoy finding things that have no existence online. There is still a lot of that at WZRD.↳ Arvo Zylo @11:25
I should dig deeper into my collection. But I get distracted by classics that I just want to hear again.↳ Arvo Zylo @11:25
When I find things like that, I generally can't resist the urge to put them online. Which sort of ruins the whole concept, I know.↳ Mr. X @11:27
You are very good at archiving things that would get lost, otherwise. The Mad Excitement, The Barbaric Pulsations, The Incomparable Rhythms Of...
↳ Mr. X @11:27
I had radio archives some of the time, so that only half-ruined it, I guess. But at WZRD I would play a tape record through the aux input and on one occasion I also had one of those loud/vintage tape recorders with the big speakers on them, and I'd play that into the mic. So many old tapes there. It was like a collage of forgotten weirdness that I was discovering as the listeners did.↳ Arvo Zylo @11:29
helooo Arvo, yes, and also the singing!↳ pxe @11:32
hi!↳ Arvo Zylo @11:32
Sounds like a fun place to do radio.↳ Song: "(Performance 1) (Live)" by "Jackie An"
I think that was a very young Lennon talking in the back of this live recording. You can only hear it if you turn it up loud.↳ Arvo Zylo @11:32
You don't have any long-form recordings of your old shows, do you?↳ Austin Rich @11:35
I do. The WZRD appearances had less archives because the CD burner was always broken or something, but I started this little blog here for WZRD things and a few others contributed.thewizardchicago.blogspot.com...

That's great that you can listen to freeform radio at work! I was able to listen on a little bluetooth ear piece and pretend like I was secret service when I did security, but not at every location.↳ Song: "Hanging From The Moon (Live)" by "Mangled Bohemians"
I should re-master this recording. I can probably improve the sound on this one if I tried.↳ JM in Texas @11:47
MiniDisc! I have a MiniDisc player that works, and can record. I have a stack of old MiniDiscs. Been meaning to do a one-off release.↳ Austin Rich @11:49
ooooohhh MD was such a great format for discrete recording..... no waiting to flip the tape...↳ Austin Rich @11:49
That would be something!Dead Air Fresheners released an album on 8-track, anything is possible!!!
↳ JM in Texas @11:52
I've been wanting to do an 8-Track release. I REALLY regret getting rid of the 8-track recorder I had in the 90's. I didn't think I would want it again!↳ Arvo Zylo @11:48
They keep inviting me to these retirement seminars, and I eventually will……but I’m holding out for a few more years.↳ das ubuibi @11:54
I might go a minute over. Hopefully less!↳ Olleh @11:56
You as well. I had more to say, but I lost track of the time. See ya'll next time!此内容由惯性聚合(RSS阅读器)自动聚合整理,仅供阅读参考。 原文来自 — 版权归原作者所有。
