I should point out that, while I said that I engineered, "All of the What's This Called? Live Tracks," I need to take it back, because I did not engineer this recording. (I think either Brandon or Doug did that one.) But it was thought to be lost, and I recovered it from a hard drive, and then mastered it for a limited edition release that included a bunch of WTC? recordings. Arvo Zylo: My favorite by Smegma was released in 1996 and one of my first purchases of "noise music" in 2001 or so, but then I just called it experimental music and didn't know about noise. Eventually I did buy the Smegma collaboration with Merzbow and some other things.

I had radio archives some of the time, so that only half-ruined it, I guess. But at WZRD I would play a tape record through the aux input and on one occasion I also had one of those loud/vintage tape recorders with the big speakers on them, and I'd play that into the mic. So many old tapes there. It was like a collage of forgotten weirdness that I was discovering as the listeners did. 11:32pm

JM in Texas: It’s a HUGE reason I’ve been working 11p-7a for the past 36 years. In the 90’s it was a AM/FM radio, then a shortwave from C. Crane……various tape-minidisc-cd players and now just a phone with apps 😎 11:48pm
