Time Trout is a rock band that spontaneously generates its music in the moment. Drummer Stephen Moses, bassist Dave Mandl (a longtime WFMU DJ), sax player Marcus Cummins and vocalist Viv Corringham rely on their musical wits, developed through long experience, and compose songs without prior discussion or planning. Viv’s vocals are a wonder: unprovoked whispers, mutters, stutters, screams & lullabies. Tune in to the magic ...

Good morning everyone! Morning Robert Claynero! George! This month has been really challenging for me. First, my sweet buddy London, the magical Goldendoodle I dog sat for 8 years and now Ellie, the Pomeranian I dog sat in NYC for the past 5 years have passed away. My heart is broken. Pixie and hugs please! 😢
Giving you all the Pixie and hugs. It's always rough when we lose a pet. They ae not just only a pet, but a part, a very important part of your family.
of course, I remember the night when my beloved dog Angus passed away. He was a English Lab/Australian Shepherd mix. He was 13 years old. Suddenly developed seizures. I had every emotion a person could have in about 6 hours. I miss him very much. He was the best.

There is along two part podcast/interview w David Jo, they're about an hour each, and he talks, fascinatingly, not only about the downtown scene of the early seventies, but also about his youth, growing up around here in good old Staten Island in sixties, Port Richmond and Saint Peter's High Schools. He was a decade or so older than me , so it was a real history lesson for me on NYC and where I'm from. Its so great. I'll try to get the link up here
The New York Dolls seem to be a regional success. I know New York music critics love them and they got some radio exposure in the northeast, but I've never heard them brought up here in the southeast. Conversely, I remember Clay playing "Never Been Any Reason" by Head East a few months back - a song you're guaranteed to hear on classic rock stations here - and no one in the chat seemed to recognize it.

These guys in BTO saying "hey you" evokes an image of a bunch of shoddy, dumpy guys hanging out outside the 7-Eleven, accosting the female customers as they enter the convenience store on a Friday night. "Hey you" indeed.
Where I live, it was mostly two pop stations, an R&B/rap station, and then everything else is classic hits or country. There's a well liked college station in Columbia, WUSC, but it has relatively poor range, so I never heard it growing up.

Belgian pigeons have a reputation for fetching a high price. New Kim has overtaken a pigeon called Armando, nicknamed the "Lewis Hamilton of pigeons" who was bought for a pricy £1.07million in 2019.
New Kim was bred by Gaston van de Wouwer, a well-known trainer of champion racing pigeons, who is now retiring and selling all of his 400 birds.

From Aaron's post on social media: "With deep sadness I share that my very close friend Tommy Robertson has passed away at 71.
The world has lost an honest and true artist. From his early 1980s work as guitarist in the New York avant-garde group Polyrock, to his deep study of Bach fugues, his minimalist impressionistic sketches, his absurdist writing, and later his work as a leading player and tester of video games, his creative path was wide-ranging. He was unique and unpredictable, yet deeply learned and empathic. He brought curiosity and intelligence to everything he touched.
Tommy was fearless! He would always stand up for the truth and he would always defend the weak. The strongest person I have ever known.
More than anything, Tommy was my brother. He’ll be deeply missed, and he won’t be forgotten. RIP"
The city I live in is kind of an awkward size where it's big enough to be a city but not big enough to really "feel" like one, if that makes sense. Nice to hear about your small town! I drive through a lot of small towns down here and always kind of wonder what goes on in them.

Krys O.: From Aaron's post on social media: "With deep sadness I share that my very close friend Tommy Robertson has passed away at 71.
RIP"
