I know what you mean, BB. Sometimes you just want to listen to 'comfort' music, and that's fine.

Yes the composer bio movies suck royally, many produced by George Jessel. I understand the new Michael Jackson biopic is also in trouble.
I'm very thankful that my all time fav non-broadway musician got one of the only good ones (Brian Wilson, love and mercy!)

I liked the Buddy Holly story when it came out. I hope it was accurate! I haven't kept up with the rock musician biopics. Florence Foster Jenkins I think was accurate.

One of my favorite music biopics, and the most unconventional one ever, was "I'm Not There," in which like six different people play Bob Dylan, or some Dylanesque figure. Does anyone remember it?
Definitely worth seeing. Makes a fascinating comparison to "A Complete Unknown," also one of the better musician biopics. Dylan's done well in the biopic department.

Back 40 years ago, when traveling through W. Virginia with my father to my brother's graduation in Ohio, I perfectly cued up the Kalmar/Ruby tune "There's a girl in the heart of Wheeling West Virginia" in a bombastic performance by Zero Mostel: itunez.cv...
we were forced to watch it in high school because performing arts high school and our teachers would just run off and throw on random movies for entire periods and that was one of them. I was bored but also I was like 14 so maybe it was a me problem lol

The last tune, particularly your dedication, brought me near to tears as I dodged traffic across Roosevelt and Broadway with both arms holding groceries.
