Good morning, Wrecking Crew! It's sunny out today, but it's still April so it's chilly. Have a seat. A cabin boy will be by with some hot beverages.

My first encounter with a singular Buttock.
Hoping that work is quiet so I can have the broadcast from Bellow Falls Yacht Club up load.

Sun Coup:
I literally spent all weekend walking around NYC singing or whistling that "Help, I need to tell you something" melody. My kids and I were visiting, and I could not stop whistling it, it was a little scary!!
10:23am
Summer and Michael and Sylvia:
Having cake, too. It was Michael’s birthday on Saturday. Also, we’re sending you something later today, so please check your email! 🙏💕🎧
Congratulations! I know that feeling, of no longer having to measure or read the recipe, and the pleasure of it coming out not just edible, but really good.
Oh yum. Frozen custard is the best.
Please give my love to your family.

Threemoons 🌒🌕🌘:
I did some experimental cooking that turned out well last night -- had a bunch of amaranth that I had cooked down to a sort of fufu--it held together really well and had set up nicely as leftovers in the fridge. Took the last of it and made little falafel thingies with that, some cornmeal, anchovices, salt, and pepper. Had them on a green salad -- last of a batch of new dandelions, romaine, and herbs with a home-made creamy lemon garlic dressing. Ate a few more of the fritters before bed with a little Kewpie.
BC (Before Covid) there was a local business out here -- ice cream sandwich company. One woman show; at street fairs and events she had a little converted helado vendor cart and she also sold at my local coffee shop. Usually 3 or 4 kinds of sandwiches. My favorite was the red velvet cookie sandwich with some kind of caramel chocolate ice cream in it -- and it was called the Morticia! :)
Amaranth by itself is a fussy little grain to work with but it's worth playing around with. Cooked, it keeps a bit of a grassy grain flavor and has a TON of fiber in it.
When my local coffee place still had her stuff, the struggle was real every morning when I got my coffee en route to the subway. They also carried locally made ham and cheese croissants as in a properly rolled and baked square with the ham and cheese in it, not in sandwich form. I would have been visible from space if I indulged every day.

David (in London):
Rather late in today. Afternoon Wendles and assembled Adventurers.
i’m big into the croissants. get em free too sometimes! the last batch i got was messed up though—pretty sure someone didn’t add enough sugar. they will infuse my compost with flakey delight
I am actually more of a savory croissant person but I hear you RE not wasting calories on improperly made stuff. I am sure the microorganisms in your compost will be less judgy! :D
oh i tried to eat them but they were NASTY! the compost will love them. if it even notices after i put the 4 or 5 buckets of organic matter i’ve been collecting the whole winter into it soon. oh that’s gonna stink!!!
Hi TDK60. I find his lyrical work joined with Barry's guitar to be some of the most thoughtful and interesting stuff of the 60s. Everyone thinks Vietnam and Fish Cheer, but "Who Am I" or even something like "Porpoise Mouth" are fascinating from an imagery and song perspective.
MHLee -- Oh yes! And there were lots of later folky songs over the decades. His site has some interesting Berkeley history.

hi, all, stuck under a cat and unable to snack or chat. all this talk about food my motivate mt to get out from under this kiten,,, but KITTEN!!!
I understand this! Lately I've been stuck under DJ Fleafella. His new habit is to throw himself into my arms so I cradle him like a baby when I am sitting at my work / art / etc desk.
that sounds real nice. my cupboards are rather bare this morning until later shoppping so i’m about to have toast’n’butter with my black coffee. a very basic beginning for meee
I need to get out and refresh my leafy greens stash. Local wild dandeions with the buds on are in from Upstate and out on the Island. Love em, including the little buds. Intense, bitter, and so good for you!
i made dandelion fritters once….they were pretty good but i found the texture a little strange. hey i found some cream cheese in the fridge—my day is looking up!
Cream cheese is one of those things that tends to be one of my fridge Halley's Comets, along with cottage cheese. I'll go through a phase where I use it a lot and then move on....
you know, i was just rethinking my habit of lawnmowing them all away! i’ll take your suggestion and be better. and i will be careful not to eat the ones that grow on my septic field
