Big Tech alternatives
• Don’t use Gmail, use Fastmail (Australia), Proton Mail (Switzerland), or Tuta Mail (Germany).
• Don’t use Google Chrome, use LibreWolf or DuckDuckGo.
• Don’t use Facebook’s WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger, use Signal, Element, Delta Chat, or Threema.
• Don’t use Facebook’s Instagram, use Pixelfed
• Don’t use Google’s YouTube, use Peertube
• Don’t use Amazon’s GoodReads, use Bookwyrm
• Don’t use Google Cloud, use Nextcloud – or Filen, based in Germany
• Don’t use Google Docs, use CryptPad, “a collaborative office suite that is end-to-end encrypted and open-source.” It can replace Google Docs and the document sharing in Microsoft’s Office 365.
• Don't use an iPhone or Google surveillance phone, use a Fairphone (Netherlands), Punkt (Switzerland) phone, or Light phone.
--> If you do use a Google phone, remove Android and install CalyxOS.
