IT Home, May 17 news, BYD released data yesterday. From May 7 to May 14, 2026, BYD built 55 new flash charging stations, with a total of 5,979 flash charging stations built, covering 312 cities across the country.

IT Home noted that at the BYD second-generation blade battery and flash charging technology launch held in March this year, BYD unveiled the world's mass-produced single-gun maximum power charging pile – the BYD flash charging pile, with a single-gun charging power of up to 1500KW.

When using the second-generation blade battery, BYD vehicles can charge from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes, and to 97% in 9 minutes, setting a new record for charging speed. Meanwhile, in an environment of minus 30℃, BYD's charging time is only 3 minutes longer than at room temperature (charging from 20% to 97% takes about 12 minutes), breaking an industry challenge.

BYD also launched the Flash Charging China strategy, planning to build 20,000 flash charging stations by the end of this year., including 18,000 flash charging stations and 2,000 flash charging highway stations.
