The pilot work will support large and ultra-large enterprises in sectors such as raw materials, equipment manufacturing, consumer goods, electronics and information, national defense science and technology, and energy and transportation to build independent private networks, and encourage cities piloting "5G+ Industrial Internet" converged applications to take the lead in constructing independent private networks.

Experts pointed out that currently, basic telecom operators mainly promote the network transformation of industrial enterprises through a "public network dedicated" approach—by dividing dedicated transmission channels on the 5G public network to build virtual private networks, or by sinking some public network equipment to the production site to build hybrid private networks. On this basis, industrial 5G independent private networks better meet key requirements such as ensuring production data does not leave the factory and providing exclusive network resources for enterprises in fields like equipment manufacturing, transportation, and energy, through a "private network dedicated" approach, accelerating the empowerment of various industries by "5G + Industrial Internet."

The industrial 5G independent private network pilot launched today aims to build an exclusive information "highway" for high-end manufacturing and other fields. A batch of 5G-empowered industrial application solutions have been implemented in multiple industries. .

As of now, the country has cumulatively promoted the construction of over 25,000 virtual/hybrid private networks and built 1,260 5G factories with distinct classifications and characteristics. The depth and breadth of "5G + Industrial Internet" applications have already led the world.
