The YU7 GT's lap time performance is excellent, but this is not the ultimate goal of the YU7 GT's continuous refinement on the Nürburgring; rather, it is one of the benefits gained from ongoing testing.

Racing the Nürburgring is to verify the vehicle's stability in various extreme environments and refine its cornering performance. to achieve the driving experience of "solid chassis, high-quality texture, fast and stable in corners," allowing every driver to enjoy the joy of driving during long trips and to be more at ease in daily driving scenarios.

The Xiaomi YU7 GT, which broke the Nürburgring production electric car lap record this time, has selected the "Track Professional Suite" , including semi-slick tires in sizes of 265mm front and 325mm rear, and a widened rear wheel arch that meets standards. At the same time, we made safety modifications in the cabin as requested by the Nürburgring, including a full cage roll cage, racing bucket seats, and six-point safety belts, and removed some interior parts to balance the weight added by the roll cage. What is the function of the eLSD electronic limited-slip differential and what are its advantages?

Most vehicles are equipped with an "open differential" on the drive axle to allow the left and right drive wheels to rotate at different speeds when turning. However, the drawback is that when one drive wheel is on a slippery surface or loses grip due to being lifted, power is distributed to that low-grip wheel, causing the high-grip wheel to lose power, making it easy for the vehicle to get stuck in slippery or complex road conditions and difficult to escape. On tracks or in extreme driving conditions, it also performs poorly. The limited-slip differential effectively solves this drawback by incorporating a multi-plate clutch system into the differential. When it detects that one drive wheel is slipping, it locks the clutch, transferring power to the other side with grip, thus achieving better escape ability in slippery and complex road conditions, as well as superior handling in corners.

The YU7 GT is equipped with an eLSD electronic limited-slip differential, capable of achieving millisecond-level "intelligent limitation of the rear axle's left and right wheel speed difference." On slippery surfaces, it can quickly identify wheel slip and distribute power to the wheel with greater grip, offering better off-road escape capabilities.

When enjoying driving pleasure through continuous corners, more power can be allocated to the outside wheels, allowing for more precise alignment with the "corner center," resulting in faster cornering and more stable handling. For the outstanding performance of YU7 GT on the Nürburgring, it is truly indispensable; when the vehicle is driving on a road with different grip levels on the left and right sides, it can achieve quicker and smoother acceleration, confidently handling slippery conditions.

Limited-slip differentials are usually standard or optional in high-performance car series, such as high-performance models from German car brands. Is YU7 GT suitable for off-road scenarios?

YU7 GT is positioned as a "sports SUV suitable for long-distance travel," not a "hard-core off-road vehicle." However, YU7 GT is equipped with "thousand-horsepower power," "closed-loop dual-tube air springs," and "eLSD electronic limited-slip differential," providing excellent performance in slippery and complex road conditions, meeting most scenarios of long-distance self-driving trips.
