IT Home reported on May 17 that on May 15, the "Sky Computing Without Boundaries · Light Enlightens the Future" space-based computing disruptive technology and future industry integration exchange event, part of the Pujiang Innovation Forum, was held in Shanghai. At the conference, Shanghai Oriental Tiansuan Technology Co., Ltd. (上海东方天算科技有限公司) and Guangbenwei Intelligent Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (光本位智能科技(上海)有限公司) announced the joint establishment of the Space-based Optical Computing Innovation Center, and the launch of the joint development of the world's first space-based optical computing satellite.
According to an official introduction obtained by IT Home, Oriental Tiansuan focuses on technology research and development and achievement transformation in areas such as new space computing systems, new energy systems, new communication transmission systems, and new operation and maintenance networks. Guangbenwei Technology specializes in photonic computing and low-power high-performance computing, with its own optical computing chip architecture, computing power engine, and full-stack system solutions, serving as the core technology support for the engineering implementation of space-based optical computing.
Previously, the two parties had jointly conducted preliminary space verification of optical computing chips., successfully verified the feasibility of the satellite platform working in coordination with the optical computing chip, laying a solid engineering foundation for the space-based application of disruptive technologies.
In addition, Dongfang Tiansuan (东方天算) and its partners launched the development of the world's first optical computing satellite , carrying out full-process engineering work including payload development, space radiation hardening, efficient thermal control , power adaptation, and on-orbit environment verification, thereby building the complete chain capability from payload development to system integration, satellite assembly, and on-orbit verification.
In the future, Dongfang Tiansuan will conduct on-orbit verification and engineering iteration to overcome the technical difficulties of space-based optical computing.
