IT之家 On May 16, OpenAI today announced a global-first partnership with the Government of Malta, aiming to promote ChatGPT Plus to all Maltese citizens.
IT之家 note: Malta is a Southern European island nation located in the central Mediterranean, with a land area of only 316 square kilometers and a population of about 570,000.
According to Malta’s “AI4ALL (AI for All)” initiative, the University of Malta has developed related AI online courses, offering people from all backgrounds the opportunity to learn how to use AI.After completing the course, citizens of the country can use ChatGPT Plus for free for one year.

The first phase of the plan will be launched in May, with the Malta Digital Innovation Authority responsible for granting eligibility to qualified participants. The plan will also be open to Maltese citizens living overseas.
Malta is the first country to launch such a plan, and OpenAI has not disclosed the financial details of the agreement.
