IT之家, April 12 news -- Yang Xueliang, Senior Vice President of Geely Holding Group, revealed at the Intelligent Electric Vehicle Development High-Level Forum (2026) that Geely will release the new generation i-HEV Smart Hybrid Technology on April 13.
Additionally, Li Shufu, Chairman of Geely Holding Group, attended the forum remotely via video link and shared Geely's achievements in the methanol vehicle sector. Yang Xueliang and Xu Yun, Dean of Zeekr's Vehicle Research Institute, also attended the forum, presenting their practices in driving brand premiumization through technological innovation.
During his speech, Yang Xueliang disclosed that the Zeekr 9X, equipped with a full-domain AI solution, has obtained the Hangzhou L3 road test license. He also pointed out that "software-defined vehicles" are rapidly evolving into "AI-defined vehicles," and future cars will not just be means of transportation but intelligent mobile terminals, data carriers, and ecological gateways.

Regarding the upcoming new generation i-HEV Smart Hybrid Technology, according to a previous report by IT之家, the technology was first disclosed by Gan Jiayue, CEO of Geely Auto Group, in January 2026, and is positioned as a global new-generation hybrid technology surpassing Japanese hybrid systems.
According to reports, the i-HEV Intelligent Dual Engine integrates Geely's self-developed powertrain and three-electric technology. It is the world's first oil-electric hybrid system to apply "AI Cloud Power", which can reduce the fuel consumption of HEV models to 3 liters per 100 kilometers. Combined with the self-developed intelligent electric drive, the overall power is increased by at least 20% compared to mainstream HEV.
