On Saturday, the New York Mets will continue their series with the New York Yankees at Citi Field.
They lost Friday’s game 5-2.
However, the more significant concern was that Clay Holmes got injured.

Following the injury to Holmes, the Mets have announced a new roster move.
Anthony DiComo of MLB.com wrote: “Roster move: the Mets called up reliever Joey Gerber to replace Clay Holmes, who officially went on the injured list. Gerber adds an extra arm to the bullpen until the Mets next need a fifth starter on Wednesday.”

Holmes had gone 4-4 with a 2.39 ERA in his first nine starts of the 2026 season.
He is in his second season playing for the Mets.

Before New York, the 29-year-old had stints with the Seattle Mariners and Tampa Bay Rays.
