The investigation into the death of NASCAR legend Greg Biffle has taken a darker turn after a disturbing email surfaced just hours after the fatal plane crash. Biffle, his wife Cristina, and their children Emma and Ryder died on December 18, 2025, when their private jet attempted to reland at Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina.

Three additional passengers also lost their lives in the crash. What followed soon after has now drawn investigators’ attention. Authorities are examining fraud, burglary, and possible insider involvement. The case has grown beyond the crash itself, as new details show that suspicious actions began almost immediately after the tragedy.

Greg Biffle Investigation Begins After Chilling Email

The Greg Biffle investigation started to expand when a disturbing email was sent to his account just hours after the crash. The message read, “I heard you’re dead, rest in hell.” Investigators confirmed the email was sent around 2 a.m. on December 19, 2025.

On that same day, several unauthorized changes were made to financial accounts linked to Greg and Cristina Biffle. Email addresses, phone numbers, and passwords were updated without permission. Fraudulent activity also appeared on Cristina’s Venmo account. Authorities confirmed that someone cashed a fraudulent check drawn on a business account linked to the family.

These actions happened within hours of the crash. Investigators are focusing on how anyone gained access to this level of private information so quickly. The timing of the email has become a key part of the Greg Biffle investigation.

Greg Biffle Investigation Expands After Mooresville Break-In

The Greg Biffle investigation grew more serious on January 8, 2026, when someone broke into the family’s home in Mooresville, North Carolina. Authorities reported that about $30,000 in cash was taken, along with NASCAR memorabilia, jewelry, two Glock handguns, and other valuables.

Security footage showed a woman inside the home for nearly six hours. Investigators said she moved through the house with ease and avoided cameras in key areas. This has raised concerns about possible prior knowledge of the property.

When combined with the earlier fraud, total losses now reach into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. The break-in added another layer to the Greg Biffle investigation.

Greg Biffle Investigation Now Spans Multiple States

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office is leading the Greg Biffle investigation and has carried out several search warrants. Authorities searched a home in Lincoln County, a business in Mooresville, and a residence in Denver, North Carolina.

Investigators did not recover stolen items during the first searches, but they seized electronic devices for further analysis. Officials plan to request more warrants as they review the evidence.

Detectives confirmed the case involves more than one suspect. “There are multiple suspects over multiple states, investigators informed WBTV.” “They added, “We can’t say they’re not connected, but we’re still investigating.”
