“It means a lot, super grateful for the opportunity and really excited to get to Buffalo,” Olson said.
His agent, Blaise Rosati of NXT ERA Partners, said Olson wasn’t surprised when he went undrafted last week, but is ready to seize this opportunity.
“It was a tough draft for quarterbacks with a lot of talent still on the board when the draft ended,” Rosati said. “We’re excited for Brady to get his shot with an organization like the Bills. He’s put in the work to earn it, and we believe he can go in there, compete, and show he belongs. The work is just getting started!”
As the Bristol Press noted, Olson had a successful two-year stint at CCSU after transferring from UMass.
“Olson, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound quarterback, had two productive seasons quarterbacking the Blue Devils. Over the past two seasons, he’s led CCSU to a 15-11 record, including an 11-2 conference record in the NEC,” the report noted.
“During the 2024 season, he threw for 2,239 yards and 17 touchdowns while rushing for 140 yards and three touchdowns while leading the Blue Devils. In 2025, he set single-season program records in passing yards (3,123), passing touchdowns (25), and completions (271) while being named First-Team All-NEC.”
Bills Set at Quarterback Position
The Bills are set in their quarterback room with Josh Allen at the top, Kyle Allen as his No. 2, and Shane Buechele as a practice-squad quarterback, but need to bring in a quarterback to run drills at rookie minicamp.
Brady said he understands the challenge he would face in earning a contract with the Bills, but said playing at rookie minicamp will give him some much-needed experience. Incoming NFL players are also allowed to attend multiple rookie minicamps, so he could end up with other opportunities.
“Every step in this process is a chance to gain experience and learn how to be a professional,” said Brady. “The minicamp is a great environment to gain this experience.”
While it’s not likely Olson will crack the depth chart with the Bills, the minicamp invite gives him the opportunity to show off his skills for the Bills and other teams. The Bills have given contracts to rookie minicamp standouts in the past, including University of Buffalo linebacker Joe Andreesen, who turned a camp invite into a contract and ultimately a spot on the 53-man roster in 2024.
