Breece Hall is staying with the New York Jets.

Shortly after agreeing to a brand new three-year $45.75 million contract, Hall took to social media.

“❤️ Shoutout everyone in my corner. Lot of work left to do. God Bless 🙏🏾 #JETS,” Hall stated.

A few minutes later, he got emotional, sharing a powerful message on X.

“Cried for the first time since I tore my ACL. This day really hit different for me man🙏🏾🤞🏾,” Hall added.

Insider Explains How the Deal Came Together

NFL Insider Connor Hughes of SNY explained that Hall’s new deal is essentially “a two-year, $29 million, fully guaranteed deal (basically). The third year was described to me as a ‘team option.’ Still, $14.5 million is a significant investment in Hall. But, after Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs get paid, this will be a bargain one for NYJ.”

“For Hall: He’s just 24. He can double-dip at 26 & get another significant deal if he outperforms this one,” Hughes added.

If you look at it from that lens, Hall is making $14.5 million per year over the next two years. That annual figure would make him the fourth-highest-paid RB in the NFL, per Over The Cap.

On the surface of the deal, Hall is the third-highest-paid running back in the league. However, Hughes explained what he would have to do to reach that maximum value.

“If Hall hits all of his escalators, all of his incentives, that is when the deal can get to the $15.25 million APY [average per year],” Hughes added.

“This was important for the Jets to get Hall locked up because they view him as a foundational piece for this team … Hall has proven throughout his career that when he is on the field, he is among the most dynamic running backs in the NFL,” Hughes continued.

The Jets Are a Top Destination for Quarterbacks

This statement has either never been said or, at the very least, it has been a very long time. The Jets are one of the most attractive landing spots for a quarterback in 2027.

“The Jets now have very quickly become a very desirable spot for whatever young quarterback they eventually get their hands on. O-Line is on lock, Garrett Wilson flies, [Kenyon] Sadiq flies, [Omar] Cooper [Jr] is going to be terrific, [Adonai] Mitchell flies, [and] Breece Hall flies. It’s a fast offense [and] it’s a young offense,” longtime radio personality Brandon Tierney said via the “Jets Collective” podcast.

Former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky said, “The @nyjets [are] an attractive place to go play for a young QB in 2027.”

This is a quarterback-driven league. So to have everything but not the quarterback really means you don’t have anything. However, what this really means is if the Jets take a young quarterback in next year’s draft, they’re in the best position of any team in football to help develop that talent and give them a great chance to succeed.

For now, the beneficiary of this offense will be 35-year-old Geno Smith, and I’m sure he won’t be complaining about it.
