On Saturday, May 2, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics will meet for Game 7. While the date is decided, the time for tip-off is not revealed by the NBA just yet.

When could the Sixers-Celtics matchup tip off?

According to The Inquirer’s Rob Tornoe, there are two scenarios.

If the Minnesota Timberwolves knock out the Denver Nuggets on Thursday, after the Sixers-Celtics matchup, the 76ers are looking at a 7 PM ET tip, which would air on NBC.

A Nuggets win on Thursday night would give the Sixers an earlier start: 4:30 PM ET streamed on Prime.

After a blowout in favor of the Boston Celtics in Game 1, there wasn’t much hope for the 76ers in this first-round series.

Joel Embiid was out of the mix after getting surgery, and the trio of Tyrese Maxey, Paul George, and VJ Edgecombe just didn’t seem to be enough to handle the Celtics. Many analysts have predicted a sweep in favor of Boston, but the Sixers prevented that from happening in Game 2 with a win on the road.

Eventually, Joel Embiid made his way back to the lineup in Game 4. Going 2-1 in games with Embiid back, the 76ers are suddenly pushing for a Game 7.

On Thursday, the 76ers held the Celtics to just 29.0% shooting from three. While the Sixers didn’t shoot much better from three, they played a much better all-around game.

Tyrese Maxey led the way with 30 points, five assists, and two steals. Joel Ebiid completed a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. He nearly had a triple-double with eight assists.

Paul George clocked in for 40 minutes, shot 5-9 from three, and scored 23 points. The Sixers left the court with a 106-93 victory over the Celtics.

On Saturday, the winner moves on for a series against the New York Knicks.
