On Wednesday night, the Seattle Mariners will continue their series with the Houston Astros in Texas.

The Mariners are coming off a 10-2 win on Tuesday.

Seattle Mariners Announce Sudden Roster Move

Recently, the Mariners claimed José Suarez off waivers from the Atlanta Braves.

The Mariners wrote (via X) on May 3: “We have claimed LHP José Suarez off waivers from the Braves and he has been added to the 40-man roster.”

Just ten days later, the Mariners have now designated Suarez for assignment.

He appeared in one game for the team.

Mariners PR wrote: “Roster Moves: 🔹 Bryce Miller, RHP, reinstated from 15-day Injured List (left oblique strain). 🔹 José Suarez, LHP, designated for assignment.”

Suarez’s MLB Career

Suarez is most known for his time with the Los Angeles Angels where he spent the first six years of his career.

Following the Angels, he spent part of the last two seasons with the Braves.

Over 115 career games, the 28-year-old has gone 22-30 with a 5.34 ERA.

Miller’s Background

The Mariners will be happy to get Miller back in action.

While he had a down year last season, the 27-year-old had a strong 2024 season.

Miller went 12-8 with a 2.94 ERA in 31 games.
