Here’s what people were saying on social media about Fuentes:

Mark Bowman: “Fuentes will start tonight’s game:”

@TJStats: “Didier Fuentes gets the call! The 20-year old righty cemented himself as the best arm in the Braves pipeline with an excellent Spring Training, and he has carried that success in the early going. His deceptive fastball and revamped slider give him a strong 1-2 punch Congrats!”

@pitchprofiler: “Didier Fuentes is back with the Braves! His four-seam and slider are whiff monsters that hitters had trouble with all spring and in AAA. Expect more of that tonight!”

Kelly Crull: “There ya go #BravesCountry…Didier Fuentes 👀👀”

Reggie Chatman Jr.: “Welcome home big dawg”

@CrosbyBaseball: “If you were curious…yes I just uploaded a podcast where we talked about if this would happen and I even said “watch, they’ll announce it right after I finish recording.””

@mdthomp_PLive: “Ian Hamilton has recently been good-ish. Cardinals this will be an upgrade over a few arms”

@NoahMOfficial: “Ian Hamilton is up for grabs 👀 Would not mind adding him back to the pen.”

@AaronTSchmidt: “#Braves’ Didier Fuentes starting tonight at Washington. It was originally going to be Martin Perez. Ian Hamilton DFA’d after allowing 3 ER last night.”

@WyattAlakamo7: “Very good move, wasn’t liking what I saw from Ian Hamilton. Let’s get this series win today!”
