NHL trade rumors were buzzing about Thomas potentially going to several teams. The New York Islanders were reportedly in the mix. The Utah Mammoth were close, but were unwilling to meet the Blues’ price tag.

In the end, Thomas stayed put in St. Louis. But the chatter suggests that teams might circle back to Thomas this summer. Interestingly, the Buffalo Sabres emerged as potential suitors at the deadline. While the Blues and Sabres had a botched deal in place, there’s still the possibility that the two sides could talk once the playoffs are over.
