SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 01: Head coach Steve Kerr of the Golden State Warriors stands on the side of the court during their game against the San Antonio Spurs during the second half at Chase Center on April 01, 2026 in San Francisco, California.

The Golden State Warriors are headed to the NBA Play-In Tournament after finishing as the tenth seed in the Western Conference, and before that, the team made a final decision on the roster going forward.

The Warriors had a few two-way players signed in the final stretch of the season due to the several major injuries they were facing. However, before the playoffs, the team had to make a decision on who would take up the final roster spot, and now, it appears they have.

Late-season addition Charles Bassey looks to be added to Golden State’s playoff roster, leaving out rookie LJ Cryer, Nate Williams, and Malevy Leons.

GettySAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – APRIL 07: Charles Bassey #28 of the Golden State Warriors shoots over Precious Achiuwa #9 of the Sacramento Kings in the second half at Chase Center on April 07, 2026 in San Francisco, California.

The Warriors did not make any roster changes on the final day of the 2025-26 NBA regular season, meaning that the team’s newest addition, Bassey, will stay with them for however long their playoff run lasts.

“By not making a roster move on Sunday, the Golden State Warriors chose Charles Bassey to be on their roster for the play-in tournament and playoffs,” Joey Akeley wrote for Sports Illustrated. “Bassey signed a standard contract with the Warriors on April 5, but that didn’t guarantee that he’d remain on the roster. They easily could have released him Sunday if they wanted one of their three players on two-way contracts—Nate Williams, LJ Cryer and Malevy Leons—to be on the postseason roster by converting their contract to a standard one.”

Warriors sign center Charles Bassey to contract:

Cryer dealt with injuries throughout the year, currently out with a knee injury. However, despite the glimpses he showed, he won’t be with Golden State for the rest of the season.

Williams and Leons were big men additions to combat injuries to Draymond Green, Kristaps Porzingis, and Al Horford, but it appears now Bassey is the one center the Warriors are choosing to keep for at least their Play-In game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

“Bassey was outstanding in the regular-season finale against the Clippers, pouring in 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting in 19 minutes. In five games with Golden State, he averaged 10.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks,” Akeley added. “The 25-year-old showed he should be under contract for next season, whether it’s with the Warriors or another team. An active 6’10” big with a 7’3″ wingspan would have value for plenty of teams as a backup center.”

Now with Bassey confirmed for the Warriors’ playoff roster, here are the players head coach Steve Kerr will be able to choose from.

Stephen Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Gary Payton, Seth Curry, Jimmy Butler, Moses Moody, De’Anthony Melton, Will Richard, Gui Santos, Quinten Post, Green, Porzingis, Horford, and Bassey are the 15 players on the Warriors playoff roster.

Warriors Could Get Back Key Players For Play-In Tournament

Injuries have been a major issue for the Warriors this season. Butler and Moody are out for the year, and a few other key contributors remain on the injury report as the regular season comes to a close.

However, while health concerns have plagued Golden State this season, they could see some players get off the injury report and return against the Los Angeles Clippers for the Play-In Tournament.

For one, Green sat out in the team’s regular season finale with a minor back injury, but as the team’s seeding was already locked in, it’s expected he was sitting for rest and will return for the Play-In.

Additionally, Post has missed seven games in a row for the Warriors, but based on the latest injury update, he will be re-evaluated this week and could be back very soon.

Al Horford & Quinten Post injury updates:

Cryer was also on the injury report, expected to be re-evaluated this week as well, but now, after the Warriors’ final roster decision, he won’t play again this year.

Still, having everyone but Butler and Moody back would be great injury news for a Golden State team that has struggled to come even close to healthy across the entire season.

The Warriors vs Clippers Play-In Tournament game tips off at 7 pm PST on Wednesday, April 15, on Amazon Prime Video.
