Jesus Made is the new No. 1 prospect in MLB Pipeline's first midseason update following Konnor Griffin's graduation.

t the 2026 season’s quarter point, MLB Pipeline updated their Top 100 prospects. The new rankings also include a new No. 1 prospect, with Milwaukee Brewers infielder Jesus Made receiving the honors.

Made takes the place of Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Konnor Griffin, who has graduated from the list. The 19-year-old signed with the club out of the Dominican Republic in January 2024. He has quickly ascended up the Brewers’ system and up prospect lists after demolishing the lower minors.

Made ranked no lower than No. 4 on any publication’s list before the start of the season. With a wave of prospects that includes Griffin, Kevin McGonigle, JJ Wetherholt, and Nolan McLean graduating, there should be a shakeup, ending with Made being the consensus top prospect by the end of the 2026 season.

Jesus Made’s 2026 Season and Outlook

The 19-year-old is quickly approaching the major leagues. He broke out with an impressive 2025 campaign that saw him slash .285/.379/.413 across three different levels. As an 18-year-old posting a 128 wRC+ and reaching Double-A, he climbed to a top-five ranking of every prospect list.

After his first big league camp this spring, Made started the 2026 season at Double-A Biloxi. With Biloxi, the young infielder has slashed .265/.351/.415 with three home runs in 33 games. While his 104 wRC+ doesn’t seem impressive at first glance, he’s also 5.2 years younger than the average player in the Southern League.

His strong performance when factoring in the age and league has him already pushing for the No. 1 prospect spot. FanGraphs and Baseball America currently have him as their No. 2 prospect, but both lists have Griffin at No. 1.

As Made continues to hit well in Double-A, a possible big league promotion could be in the cards. MLB Pipeline projects a 2026 ETA for the Brewers top prospect.

Before his major league promotion, it’s likely the club will move Made to Triple-A Nashville for his final tune-up in the minors. If he continues to perform, then he might finish the year in the majors.

In that scenario, Made should replace Joey Ortiz at shortstop. Since putting up a 105 wRC+ as a rookie in 2024, the Brewers shortstop has struggled to hit.

In his last 604 plate appearances, Ortiz carries a .225/.273/.306 slash with eight home runs. His 63 wRC+ over that stretch ranks as the third-worst among players with at least 600 plate appearances. Only Cincinnati Reds third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes (57) and Colorado Rockies center fielder Brenton Doyle (61) have performed worse.

With both Made and Cooper Pratt on the cusp of the major leagues, that puts pressure on Ortiz to start hitting.

Jesus Made’s Insane Ceiling as a Player

FanGraphs is particularly high on Made. The publication projects the young infielder to develop 60 hit, 60 power (raw and in-game), 60 field, and 45 speed tools in the future.

With that lofty a ceiling, Made is the type of player who drastically alters the Brewers’ trajectory the minute he steps in the locker room. He will certainly affect the club’s 2027 plans, as he’s on a short list of prospects who could earn their club a first-round pick through the Prospect Promotion Incentive.

The Brewers have another prospect at the position who they’ve already invested $50 million in with Pratt. Both infielders project to cover the left side of Milwaukee’s infield for the foreseeable future.
