On Monday, the St. Louis Cardinals will begin a series with the Pirates in Pittsburgh.
The Cardinals are coming off a 3-2 loss to the Seattle Mariners (at home) on Sunday.

Before Monday’s game, the Cardinals announced the acquisition of a new player.

Peralta has played part of two MLB seasons for the Colorado Rockies.
The 25-year-old has a 1-3 record with a 6.03 ERA in 37 career games.
Rockies Club Information wrote: “The Rockies announced today the following transactions: – Reinstated RHP Jimmy Herget from the paternity/restricted list. – Optioned RHP Seth Halvorsen to Triple-A Albuquerque. – Optioned LHP Sammy Peralta to Triple-A Albuquerque. Additionally, LHP Luis Peralta has been claimed off waivers by St. Louis. The Rockies have 25 players on their active 26-man roster.”

The Cardinals are 14-13 in their first 27 games of the season, which has them at the bottom of the National League Central.
They are 7-5 in the 12 games they have played on the road.
Following four games against the Pirates, the Cardinals will return home to host Freddie Freeman and the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night.
