The Seahawks may have more moves on the way after the NFL draft.

The Seattle Seahawks managed to maneuver up and down the NFL draft board, but the roster still has some holes to address if the team hopes to repeat as Super Bowl champions. Help could be on the way for Seattle in the form of a veteran pass rusher.

Following the NFL draft, Emerald Spectrum’s Corbin Smith reported that the Seahawks are likely to sign Dallas Cowboys free agent pass rusher Dante Fowler Jr.

“For those wondering, yes, I would expect Dante Fowler Jr. will sign with Seahawks after the compensatory pick deadline passes,” Smith detailed in an April 25, 2026, message on X.

“That’s usually in the first week of May, though I don’t see any actual deadline for this year.”

Seahawks’ Target Dante Fowler Started 11 Games for the Cowboys in 2025

The move would not be a major surprise as Fowler visited the Seahawks on April 16. Fowler played in all 17 games for the Cowboys in 2025, including 11 starts.

The veteran is one year removed from posting 10.5 sacks with the Washington Commanders. Seattle would likely be able to land Fowler on a team-friendly deal.

After landing a new playmaker to help replace Kenneth Walker, the Seahawks focused heavily on improving the team’s defense. Heading into the draft, Seattle started with four picks and ended the three-day event with eight selections.

Seattle began the draft by snagging Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price with the final pick of the first round. The Seahawks went on to select five defenders with their next seven selections.

Fowler could be the next notable defender to join the Seahawks roster in the coming weeks if all goes as planned.

Seattle considered trading down from No. 32 but several deals fell through, general manager John Schneider revealed following the first round. Ultimately, the Seahawks opted to stick and pick, fearing another team could jump them to select Price.

“We thought he had some (trade) opportunities for a minute, they fell apart,” Schneider explained, per Seahawks.com. “A lot of trading going on right ahead of us, but I mean, he kind of stood alone. Great player.

“The person’s outstanding, the competitor, he’s a Seahawk. It’s really cool. We were kind of concerned people were going to go ahead of us because we felt like he was so out there in terms of mock drafts and what have you.”
