The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series heads to Watkins Glen International this weekend with immediate pressure before the race even starts. Veteran reporter Bob Pockrass revealed that 39 cars have entered the Mission 200 at Watkins Glen, but only 38 spots are available.

That means one team will fail to qualify for Friday’s NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race. The crowded field has already created strong reactions among fans because several experienced road racers, Cup Series drivers, and rising prospects are part of the lineup.

Another talking point from the entry list is the continued absence of Ford entries in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series field. With qualifying now carrying major importance, teams enter Watkins Glen knowing every lap could decide who races and who goes home early.

NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Entry List Raises Stakes at Watkins Glen International

The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series entry list includes several well-known names for the Mission 200 at Watkins Glen. After impressing on NASCAR’s road courses, Shane van Gisbergen will once again take over the No. 9 JR Motorsports Chevrolet this weekend. Connor Zilisch also joins the JR Motorsports lineup alongside Justin Allgaier and Sammy Smith.

Ross Chastain will drive the No. 32 Chevrolet for Jordan Anderson Racing. Other notable names on the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series entry list include Alex Labbe, Josh Bilicki, Preston Pardus, Corey Day, Austin Hill, and Carson Kvapil.

Bob Pockrass shared the official entry list on X and confirmed that one team will miss the race because the field exceeds the 38-car limit. That situation places a major focus on qualifying, as smaller teams try to secure a spot in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series event at Watkins Glen.

Watkins Glen Mission 200 Brings Road-Course Favorites Into Focus

Few events on the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series calendar test drivers more than the Mission 200 at Watkins Glen. The 2.45-mile road course features fast straights, elevation changes, and technical corners that often reward experienced road racers.

Van Gisbergen enters the weekend as one of the biggest favorites because of his success on road courses. Fans reacting to the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series entry list pointed to him as a possible contender for the win at Watkins Glen.

Young drivers are also receiving attention before the race weekend begins. Zilisch continues building experience with JR Motorsports, while Carson Kvapil will drive the No. 91 for DGM Racing x JIM. Road-course specialists like Labbe and Pardus could also become important names during the Mission 200 because of their experience on similar tracks.

The field includes organizations such as JR Motorsports, Joe Gibbs Racing, Richard Childress Racing, Viking Motorsports, and Alpha Prime Racing.

NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Fans Notice Missing Ford Teams

One of the biggest talking points surrounding the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series entry list is the complete lack of Ford-backed teams. The 39-car field includes Chevrolet and Toyota entries, but no Ford-powered cars appear on the Watkins Glen roster.

Fans discussing Pockrass’s update online noted that this continues a recent trend in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. The lack of Ford representation has created more conversation heading into the Mission 200 weekend.

Practice and qualifying sessions will determine the starting grid before Friday’s race at Watkins Glen. Because 39 teams are competing for only 38 starting spots, one driver will leave the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series weekend without making the race.
