Months after his death in a December 2025 plane crash, Greg Biffle’s luxury yacht remains docked in Daytona Beach — and its status has quietly changed.

The 112-foot vessel, known as “Checkered Past,” is still sitting at the Daytona Marina and Boat Works, where it has been parked for months. But after previously being listed for $4.39 million, the yacht is no longer on the market.

The combination of its unchanged location and sudden disappearance from listings has created a new layer of intrigue around one of the more unusual off-track storylines tied to the former NASCAR driver.

Yacht Still in Plain Sight at Daytona Marina

As first reported by the Daytona Beach News-Journal, Biffle’s yacht remains positioned near the Chart House Restaurant, surrounded by other large vessels at the marina.

Built in 1999, the Everglades-style fishing yacht spans approximately 112 feet and is equipped with four large outboard engines. It was designed to accommodate eight guests along with a four-person crew and is capable of navigating relatively shallow waters despite its size.

Despite being a high-value asset once publicly listed for sale, the yacht is still clearly visible to anyone passing through the marina.

Listing Disappears After Being Priced at $4.39 Million

Earlier this year, “Checkered Past” had been listed for sale at $4.39 million.

That listing is no longer active.

While it is not uncommon for high-end assets to be temporarily removed from the market due to pending deals, pricing adjustments, or private negotiations, there has been no public confirmation that the yacht has been sold.

For now, its status remains unclear.

Biffle’s Legacy Still Resonates

Biffle, who was 55 at the time of his death, built a decorated NASCAR career that included 19 Cup Series wins. He also captured championships in both the Truck Series and Xfinity Series, cementing his place among the sport’s most accomplished drivers of his era.

Biffle was also included on the NASCAR Hall of Fame’s Modern Era Ballot for the Class of 2027, further highlighting the lasting impact of his career.

In recent years, he was also widely recognized for his humanitarian efforts, including his work following Hurricane Helene in 2024, when he used his personal helicopter to deliver supplies to communities cut off by flooding.

A logistics coordinator on the ground at the time described the effort, saying, “Getting generators there, the food, the water … He was running his helicopter multiple times a day to the hardest hit areas, to people cut off from roads, bridges, everything that was washed away, to where they literally couldn’t be reached by anybody else.”

Still There — and Still Unanswered Questions

For now, “Checkered Past” remains exactly where it has been — docked in Daytona Beach.

What’s changed is everything around it.

The listing is gone. The ownership status is unclear. And the yacht, once tied to one of NASCAR’s most recognizable names, is now sitting quietly months after his death.

Until more information surfaces, the future of Biffle’s $4.3 million vessel remains an open question.
