Following the game, the Tigers have announced the decision to designate Short for assignment.
Tigers PR wrote: “The Tigers today activated INF Zach McKinstry off of the 10-day injured list. INF Zack Short has been designated for assignment.”

Short had just been acquired in a trade with the Washington Nationals last week.
Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic had written (on May 1): “Zack Short is back in the Tigers system Tigers have acquired Short from the Nationals in exchange for either cash considerations or a player to be named later. Short will report to Triple A.”
