The Blue Jays have been without Max Scherzer since April 24.

Ahead of their series with the Marlins, the team announced the latest update on the future Hall of Famer.

MLB.com wrote (on May 25): “Will face live hitters May 27, which could be final step before rehab assignment.”

According to the site, he is still supposed to return in June.

Scherzer is currently 1-3 with a 9.64 ERA in his first five games of the 2026 season.

He is in his second year with Toronto.
