After a difficult year for Phil Mickelson due to ongoing “personal health matters with his family,” it was recently announced that the six-time major champion will not be in attendance at next week’s PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club. His withdrawal opened the door for another fan-favorite golfer to compete. Max Homa officially earned a spot in the field as the tournament’s first alternate.

Max Homa Gets Great News Ahead of PGA Championship

For Homa, the news comes at a great time. The California native has been searching for consistency after a difficult stretch on the course. His entry into this year’s second Major presents another opportunity for him to turn things around on one of golf’s biggest stages.
