The Edmonton Oilers‘ 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs run can certainly be described as disappointing. After entering the playoffs with high expectations, the Oilers lost in the first round to the Anaheim Ducks in six games. Now, the Oilers are entering the summer with a ton of questions that they will be looking to answer.

Given how short the Oilers’ playoff run ended up being this year, it is very likely that they will have a different-looking roster next season. The Oilers were simply not good enough this season and did not look like the team that made it to two consecutive Stanley Cup Finals in 2024 and 2025 in the slightest.

With this, the expectation is that the Oilers will be moving on from at least a few of their players. Due to this, let’s take a look at three Oilers pending unrestricted free agents who likely won’t be back in Edmonton next season.

Connor Ingram Could Be Let Go as Oilers Eye Goalie Upgrade

The possibility of Connor Ingram’s time with the Oilers being over is certainly there. The 29-year-old netminder is a pending unrestricted free agent, and it is no secret that the Oilers need to upgrade at the goalie position. With this, it would be understandable if the Oilers parted ways with Ingram as they look to find a true No. 1 goalie.

In 32 regular-season games this season with the Oilers, Ingram had a 16-10-3 record, a 2.60 goals-against average, and an .899 save percentage. However, he struggled during the playoffs, posting an .876 save percentage and a 3.86 goals-against average in five games. This could result in the Oilers letting him leave through free agency this summer.

Adam Henrique’s Time With the Oilers Could Be Over

With the Oilers’ season ending in such a disappointing way, it would be understandable if they moved on from a veteran forward like Henrique this offseason. The 36-year-old pending UFA had a tough 2025-26 season, as he recorded three goals, 15 points, and a minus-12 rating in 65 games.

With Henrique now entering his late 30s and coming off a down year, it would be understandable if the Oilers chose not to re-sign him and instead looked to find an upgrade for their bottom six. If Henrique ends up hitting the free-agent market this offseason, he could still generate some interest from teams looking for more experience on their roster.

Max Jones Will Likely Be Let Go by the Oilers

One pending UFA on the Oilers who likely won’t be re-signed by the Pacific Division club is Max Jones. The 28-year-old forward split this season between the NHL and the AHL, so it would not be surprising in the slightest if Edmonton lets him leave through free agency.

In 21 games this season with the Oilers, Jones had three goals, two assists, five points, and 56 hits. Down in the AHL with the Bakersfield Condors, he had 10 goals, 18 points, and 61 penalty minutes. Overall, he was a decent forward in the AHL this season, but the Oilers could find a younger replacement for him with ease.
