On Thursday, the Philadelphia Phillies are off following a series with the Cincinnati Reds (at home).
The Phillies lost two out of three, and will now host the Cleveland Guardians on Friday night at Citizens Bank Park.
Phillies Sign Recently Released Yankees Pitcher

Ahead of their series with the Guardians, the Phillies signed Drake Fellows to a Minor League contract (via MLB.com).
Tom Housenick of The Morning Call wrote: “Today’s @IronPigs roster move RHP Drake Fellows signed by @Phillies added to Triple-A roster Fellows, 28, has not pitched this year. Was 2019 6th-round pick of @Padres”
Fellows had been with the New York Yankees organization over the offseason.
He was a sixth round pick in the 2019 MLB Draft (out of Vanderbilt) by the San Diego Padres.
The 28-year-old has yet to make his MLB debut.
Last year, Fellows went 9-6 with a 4.41 ERA in 33 Triple-A games (19 starts).
@PHLBaseballNews wrote (on Thursday): “The #IronPigs are putting their newest pitcher right to work. Drake Fellows was signed to an #MiLB deal and assigned to Lehigh Valley. He gets the start against @swbrailriders.”

If Fellows does well with the IronPigs, he could be a candidate to get a chance in the MLB this season.
He will be worth keeping an eye on for Phillies fans.

The Phillies will enter Friday as the second-place team in the National League East with a 25-25 record in 50 games.
They have gone 7-3 over their last ten games (and are 13-14 in 27 at home).
Following the Guardians, the Phillies will head on the road for a series with the Padres that starts on Monday night in San Diego.

The Phillies have made the MLB playoffs in each of the previous four years.
They reached the World Series in 2022.
